We continue to CONNECT as a Mission, as we ELEVATE the Kenya-Hungary diplomatic relations!

On 6th of March 2025, His Excellency Ambassador Maurice @MMakoloo presented letters of credence to His Excellency H.E. Dr. Tamás Sulyok, President of the Republic of Hungary as the 4th Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Hungary resident in Vienna Austria.

While congratulating Amb. Makoloo, the President hailed the 60 years of cordial diplomatic relations between the two countries, adding that the presentation of letters of credence will undoubtedly elevate these relations to new levels.

Among the two topics discussed, that were of mutual interest, included strengthening and deepening trade and economic relations. This will be done by enhancing the existing partnerships in the fields of Agriculture, education, water management, nuclear Energy and exploring new opportunities for partnership in the field of health among others. In addition, the President applauded Kenya's continued efforts towards finding sustainable regional peace and security.

In addition, Amb. Makoloo briefed the President on the upcoming reciprocal visit by H.E Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs to Hungary where several instruments of cooperation would be signed.
After the presentation of credentials ceremony, the Ambassador proceeded to the Heroe’s square, in the middle of the beautiful city of Budapest. This is where a Memorial Stone was built to honour the soldiers who died in the First World War. Amb. Makoloo had the privilege to lay a wreath and show his respects.

New Chapter for Kenya-Slovenia relations:
Monday, 13th January 2025, marked a new chapter for Kenya 🇰🇪- Slovenia 🇸🇮 relations as Ambassador Maurice Makoloo, presented letters of credence to Her Excellency Ms.Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia as the first Kenya Ambassador to Slovenia resident in Vienna, Austria.

President Musar hailed this as a historic achievement, which adds fresh momentum in advancing the 20 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The two discussed several issues of mutual interest including strengthening and deepening trade relations; technology and skills cooperation; enhancing people to people connection among others.

In addition, the President hailed Kenya's efforts towards finding sustainable regional and international peace and security, and its continued leadership and contribution towards mitigation of the effects of climate change, adding that Slovenia as a current non-permanent member of the UN Security Council has prioritised finding sustainable peace and security in a manner that respects International law. Noting that Kenya hosts one of the four offices of the @United Nations, the two agreed on the need to reinvigorate multilateralism.
