Tucker Carlson:
“One of the reasons that I have a lot of trouble going to church is [because] all these Christian leaders are so flawed and so obviously fake. I can’t deal with it,” said Tucker. “It freaks me out.”
This is simultaneously something that tons of people agree with and also something that is wrong-minded.
Imagine how corrupt every single pastor has to be, pastors you’ve never met or heard of, for the above reasoning to be sound. It’s just high slander against countless men who have devoted their lives to the service of the body of Christ.
Moreover, when we isolate ourselves from accountability and a local church family we get weird, and not in the funny haha way.
The biggest lesson from “No Kings” is to make sure you have kids because they’ll give you grandkids who have football and soccer games that will keep you from wasting your 70’s protesting a non-existent monarchy.
@emmacruises@shipmonk Can you give us a hint of what improvements we might see? Have you published any kind of feature roadmap? I’m a huge fan and I think the cruise cards were a brilliant idea, btw
A few signs of a maturing, stable leader:
1. They are eager to regularly encourage and praise others, particularly those they are directly over.
2. They receive criticism well and in a way where even if it's not delivered well, they can recognize the truth in it and course correct.
3. At any time, when asked how they are improving they can provide the answer because they actually ARE.
One of the core values of our church is that we believe church should be SIMPLE BUT MEANINGFUL. We don't do anything fancy. I believe we simply crave the presence of God in our midst.
God meets with his gathered people in very simple, tangible ways: worshipping in song, greeting one another in love, praying with and for one another, celebrating baptisms, receiving from His table, repenting of sin and submitting to the preaching of His word.
It's not complex.
