And here I am volunteering at my son’s school to compensate for almost no aide support because UCP underfunds everything else education related.
I need abandon ethics and make powerful friends in politics.

This thread should be mandatory reading for anyone who cares about the future of Alberta.
From deliberately deleting emails to protect against FOIP requests, to cronyism and much more.
Read this thread & then do something.
Your province needs you.

Ultimately, the claim that Alberta students are failing is simply not accurate. Alberta has a world class education system that we should be protecting; I don’t want to see it eroded by the new K-6 draft.
Thanks for this informative thread Janet.
*New* Documentation of outright plagiarism after a comparison of texts used in the UCP’s K-6 curriculum https://t.co/sm0Mn8s2Lc Astonishingly, not only is it plagiarized (verbatim), it’s used contrary to the original author’s (Palmer, 1976) intent. #abed#ableg#yyc#yeg
“If you could assess what’s the most effective tool you have for to help with economic recovery and the retention of young people in the province, it’s our postsecondaries,” — NDP Advanced Education Critic David Eggen #ableg#abpse

@jsdlathrop@davideggenAB A couple of hypotheses: 1) UofA is in Edmonton; 2) universities are diverse places, but think of the most ideologically conservative profs (Mintz, Morton, Flanagan, Cooper, etc) and they all work at UofC.
@davideggenAB All post-secondary institutions had their grants cut for the third straight year. But UofA is being hit the hardest. Repeatedly. Alberta's oldest and largest university is being deliberately targeted by the Kenney government.
After cutting over $170 million to U of A budget in three years, post secondary education is in crisis. @Nateglubish@JordanWalkerAB Stop the bleeding! Education is critical to Alberta's economic future. #shpk#strathco#Ableg
.@jkenney Yesterday, @UAlberta President & Vice Chancellor’s letter to students highlights that although UofA educates 25% of Alberta’s students, #Budget2021 assigns 50% of #abpse cuts to this university. Private and religious universities spared such major cuts. #abpoli#AbLeg
The fact that Mr. @shandro is complaining that the federal government isn't "supporting Alberta" when Alberta is sitting on hundreds of millions of dollars of unspent federal aid is infuriating for Albertans to hear.
