@Deere_Salesman Why? Crop prices remain good. Not quite as good as last year. In my little world of northwest Ohio we had a better wheat crop and have potential to have as good of a corn and bean crop as 2022. Also input prices are substantially lower in 2023
@drich82 The “thank a farmer” movement is the dumbest thing ever created. There are hard working people in all aspects of the workforce. Just because you farm doesn’t make you king of the world. I couldn’t farm if it wasn’t for all the hard working suppliers that keep me rolling.
@MaxROIFarmer Might be easier to get a pallet Jack to have at ur farm and shove in with the forklift. Some drivers keep them on the truck then have to get it off and put in trailer. Easier to just have one laying there and shove in. Lol. But ya it’s annoying.
@MoneyJrod Is there a stipulation on max out of pocket to be able to contribute? For the past two years I was able to contribute but for this year I read that I can’t bc my MOOP is $100 to high. My deductible meets criteria.
@sanegrain If you don’t have to move equipment at night, don’t. A lot of stuff has sufficient lighting, but a lot of stuff doesn’t. The inability to see adds a big risk even though traffic can be less at night.
@farmmillennial Work is always outside but it was always there before, I was just further away from it. It’s much easier to walk out now and get a few things done at random times that I would have never done being off farm. My vote, I’d never not want to be on the farm if I was farming.
@Badgerswimr Northwest Ohio. Might be a bit late with not having much moisture last fall to help get it up. Looks like we will get the nitrogen on next week and we will be off to the races. Wintered really nice
@steveconaway1 I’d sell the home farm if the money was right. If my grandpa were still here and someone offered us the ability to buy 4 times as much somewhere else, pretty sure even he coulda been talked into that. It’s been bought and sold in the past. It’ll happen in the future too.
@DaveDejmal It’s a good idea with potential to work to some degree, but your wage breakdowns are to low. Full time is 25-35 right now. Something like this being part time would have to pay 50+ to make up for insurance, retirement, sick time.
@BrandonWeber98@Quicke_UK Off topic, but do you like that quickie loader? Looking at getting a Q5 for our maxxum 125. Dealer won’t sell a case loader as they said quickie sells a complete package and case you have to get all the mounts individually and is harder to get all the correct pieces.
@VogelNC I think this is very under looked in ag jobs. Problem is, full time guys get pissy when part time makes more. And for something like this to work, a qualified person for a month a year is going to cost a lot per hour. I know you said negotiable, but that $30/hr wouldn’t be close
@drich82 It came out, looked good and had a ton of august rain, which I think made it keep filling out and holding on. Top that with the summer that turned in to late fall with the flip of a switch. Could have used another week of 90* like we typically get.
@Miller_time150 Have you checked ACA plans (aka Obamacare). We have it for our family. Chose one with the lowest deductible. Been great this year. Subsidized to because our net income is low. If you can keep your income low, bet it will beat any private insurance rate. Health insurance is stupid
