@MartinMulcahey@_SoccerThoughts Not necessarily. The European leagues compete with / cannibalize themselves. MLS competes with Liga MX (as well as College Football and other American sports).
Primetime beats the morning but isn't much different to weekend afternoons.
@JonathanBocan19@AndrewMarchand@SebSB Likely just the 30 televised games (about one per week). Though the remaining games are expected to stream free but not on YTTV.

One would think Concacaf and Conmebol would merge after this. Otherwise only one Conmebol nation is eliminated after qualifying (one in the playoff) 😭
With 16 spots it could be 6 groups of 6 in the qualifying playing 5 home and 5 away. Top 2 in each qualifying plus 4 3rd-placers
Here's how the direct slots could look like by Confederation if the #FIFAWorldCup expands to 64-teams.
10-AFC
11-CAF
8-Concacaf
8-CONMEBOL
2-OFC
23-UEFA
2-Playoffs
@MaxBretosSports 56 is cleaner than 48. 64 could work but at some point the tv windows cap out.
48: 12 groups, 24 matches per rd, 4 matches each for 6 days.
56: 14, 28 matches per rd, 4 for 7 or 5 for 4 and 4 for 2.
64: 16, 32, likely 4 for 8 or 6 for 2 and 5 for 4.
@Braylon_Breeze How much was Fox paying for the Bundesliga before? If they can get The CW or Ion to carry matches, it might be worth it for exposure if the money isn't there. You'd think FOX would have some interest again with Euro 2028 coming soon.
@TylerWong65@polarcritter@Braylon_Breeze Will be interesting if both are in NJ or if Stone and team airs coverage from Times Square or somewhere in NYC. Fox has a New York Studio they can tape interviews and such in.
@NateGilbert They might be better off selling 2030 alone to linear tv (FOX, Disney, or NBC w/ Tele and Univision) and bundling 2034 with 2038 which could be in the US.
@chall77@sherman4949@byajperez I would assume nothing big is bundled unless they are struggling to sell it - maybe the youth World Cups?
I can't see a global deal behind a paywall happening this cycle with it being the Centennial WC.
@SarrMaclean@Braylon_Breeze I think they go to Boston and KC now. Darke and Fletcher split the all-European affairs. But they could also do LA and KC...
Just outclassed by European opposition AGAIN. Hopefully we can get some outside competition to play in the Gold Cup (Ireland, Scotland, and/or Wales ahead of them co-hosting the Euros).
@JaydenNavarro5@TaylorTwellman The goalscoring was a success in this tournament. 10+ goals this tournament vs 3 in Qatar and 5 in Brazil. Everything else doesn't feel better than previous teams.
