#DCIM353McCormick I enjoyed everyone’s presentations, there were some really good topics! I also appreciated this class a lot because I did actually learn something. Stay safe everyone and have a good break!
@saifeldin144 When social media platforms update their sites, it amazes me how they can add new features when i honestly didn’t think that there could be much more to add to the platform.
@WasimDaanish This is a valid point. I think that all new technologies have their pros and cons. It is important for us to really know the ins and outs of new technologies to see how they would really affect us.
@alanarutgers I totally agree! I remember seeing an article about Amazon having a robot that watches over employees to make sure that they are being efficient enough. Another example of this is self check out in stores.
#DCIM353McCormick The pandemic has made us rely on technology now more than ever. For example, instead of going to a doctors office we could’ve did a virtual appointment. This is something i think will be used in the future because we have to adjust to the way the world is now.
one takeaway from the course is how much of an impact technology has on our lives. I never considered technology in any way to be disruptive, but now after this course I can look at the different kinds of tech and decide if it is disruptive or not.
@class_lee#DCIM353McCormick I definitely agree! It is very important for us to understand how certain technologies have an effect on us. Especially the emerging technologies as well as the disruptive ones.
@shmideprice I definitely agree that this is a topic to remember! In my opinion theories are harder to remember, but they are necessary because they help us understand how things work and in this case, communication. #DCIM353McCormick
#DCIM353McCormick Something to remember for the test is the two types of disruptive innovations. (1) Low end: the creation of a new market by lowering costs. (2) New market is when a new market is created with no consumption.
@LindemannKyle#DCIM353McCormick This is an interesting project. I noticed that my maps has saved my “significant locations”, would this be an example of context-aware computing?
@GillianGKenney#DCIM353McCormick This is a great topic! I think that LinkedIn is a great social media to find jobs and it is a tool that is becoming more popular.
@JessicaLKehoe#DCIM353McCormick I think that this is really a great topic to do your project on. Like you said AI is something that is very prevalent in our daily lives and I’m interested in learning more.
For my project I am going to do research on social media. At first I wanted to do my project on the ride of 5G but I think that this topic is much better. There is a documentaryI recently watched called the social dilemma and it was a true eye opener. #DCIM353McCormick
@cathyDCIM #DCIM353McCormick Great point! I definitely find myself sharing certain aspects of my life on social that people most certainly don’t have a care in the world about. I think that it is just for me to just post anything and to keep my feed interesting.
@LianaMasangkay#DCIM353McCormick I noticed that once I got my first smartphone, I always had it in my hand. I also notice that once I got older and using social media more, my phone is always in my hand no matter it I am using it or not.
@class_lee#DCIM353McCormick I definitely agree with this. Another thing to point out is the major convenience it is to be able to get things you need online.
#DCIM353McCormick With the recent pandemic, and basically everyone moving online, the internet has become essential and a necessity. If the pandemic were to hit maybe 20 years ago, I honestly don’t even know how we could’ve adjusted. https://t.co/JFDemcjRKV
