@MattSmethurst The assumption made by this post, of course, is that the parents will be outsourcing their discipleship, regardless of what form it takes.
Perhaps that assumption is the thing that needs to change more than the focus of the "discipleship."
@ronrule Agree with the sentiment. But in reality, these jobs will be the last to be disrupted because AI solves an efficiency problem that government is not incentivized to care about.
@grok If Milroe started every game of a 17-game season and had the average number of snaps per game for an NFL QB, how many fumbles would he have in a season?
@PaulTripp Yes to this! Another way of stating this:
It is better to be honest than right.
But when we're trying so hard to be right we won't even consider whether we're being true to God, ourselves, or the truth.
@piper4335k@Brcremer I think you missed my point, DBC. Calling people who hold public policy positions you disagree with racist 1) doesn't make them racist, and 2) doesn't help reach a solution. I'm fine with birthright citizenship, but not OK with accusations of racism by someone who can do better.
@Methodist_Prime Yes! When we could be thoughtful and allow the Spirit to exhibit kindness and gentleness, we reject the Spirit out of hand. Further, when faced with a choice of being honest about a subject or being right, we choose to be right. In so doing, we live by the flesh and dishonor God.
@srjohnson007@shawnblanc I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes I need to be moving toward something β even the foggy of awareness of some undiscovered idea β before clarity arrives.
@JeromeAdamsMD Jesus is going to ask me about my stance on a national policy? Or heβs going to ask me how I treated the person in front of me? Believe it or not, these are not the same thing.
@JoshuaBarzon At our church, an elder visits with an individual or couple that has applied for membership, usually over dinner or something. The austere term "interview" is not used. It is a chance for dialogue. It can achieve the same thing as an interview, but the emphasis is relationship.
@howertonjosh@andy570 Yes to this! I don't understand how people can so easily take a Deuteronomy passage on the foreigner (written for ancient Israel, applicable to the church and individual believer) and apply it to the American government as if it was written for and to Trump himself. So strange!
