@TamaraLBennett1@TheRealThelmaJ1 Lapsed Presbyterian here, which is still on the list. Thanks for your post. I'm always glad when people post the facts even if it doesn't change everybody's minds. It's important to do it.
@JamesTate121 Who knows what the actual truth here is but it seems to me someone would go check those rules Bahama has before planning the trip. So I don't think we know the actual motivation.
@sciencegirl An alternative to giving the complete citation is to leave out the title. That way, people who want to read a paper can find it. TBH if you give a made up citation, it decreases trust in the information.
@sciencegirl I love that you are spreading digestible information about science, but again, this is NOT the correct citation. I know the actual title is hard to understand by non-scientists, but it would be better to use that with perhaps a "this is what this is about" paraphrase.
@sciencegirl Update, Perplexity ai: "The description of the study you quoted is likely a paraphrase of existing Schwabe work on acute stress and memory integration/insight. There is no 2024 Science Advances article with that exact title." OK to summarize, but best not to make up a citation.
@sciencegirl I'd like to read this paper, but I am unable to find it using the citation information you supplied. I tried Google Scholar, the Science Advances website, and PubMed. Could you double check?
