@RutgersAltRoute A5. #teachered#growthmindset. Praise effort not results. Give specific feedback with forward looking next steps "I like how you ___, maybe next time try ____" or "what if you added ___ to make it stronger?"
@RutgersAltRoute A4. #teachered#growthmindset I already allow students to reflect and redo. I also use formative assessments before summative. I need to do more "not yet" grading.
@RutgersAltRoute A3. #teachered#growthmindset use the word "yet" to encourage growth. focus on effort vs. ability. recognize mistakes are data. Need to praise process and normalize the learning curve. give specific feedback on "growth areas"
@RutgersAltRoute A2. verbally teacher can praise effort, encourage reflection and use "not yet." Nonverbally we can have posters that showcase famous failures, and growth mindset. Also use rubrics that focus on progress and whiteboards (that encourage risk taking). #teachered#growthmindset
@RutgersAltRoute A1. Students with a fixed mindset have a fear of failure and avoid challenges. Growth mindsets require sustained effort. Opportunity is to normalize the struggle and praise the process, not the just results. #teachered#growthmindset
@RutgersAltRoute A5 the school can help by allocating training days to discussing and helping specific students w SWD. Teachers can add more classroom structure (this benefits all students) and to use technology to scaffold learning. #sped#teachered. .
@RutgersAltRoute A4. I ask students to reflect on what's working/not working, specifically for learning. I also ask for feedback on what I can do better. I spend a lot of time one-on-one (or in small groups) with my students so they can easily advocate. I also praise advocacy#sped #teachered

@RutgersAltRoute A3. #teachered#sped . I do a few things already. I have a predictable routine, I minimize distractions, and I use active learning stations with whiteboards. I also chunk tasks and show both visually and talk through. I also allow for mastery-based exam retakes.
@RutgersAltRoute A2. I have used preferential seating to help students focus. I also chunk assignments. I also let some students stand at my lab tables to reduce anxiousness. I like the idea of having fidget tools. #TeacherEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A1. I have a hard time managing classroom dynamics. I like to do a lot of collaborative work but some students tend to act out. And this causes a problem with progress. I also find it hard to plan for everyone without being overwhelmed #TeacherEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A5 Support victims by helping to build confidence and positive networks (i.e. friends, clubs). Aggressors must be made aware of what they are doing and its impact. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@FreundRebe89375@RutgersAltRoute A4 that is a really good point, regarding students end up missing a lot of class time. I have already had 3 students miss a lot of class due to displinary issues
#TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute A3 My school seems focused on creating a safe environment by minimizing opportunities for students to interact unsupervised. They also have many clubs to support student well-being. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
