AI agents have been deleting production databases, and some teams are responding by banning them from anything data-adjacent. We think that's the wrong tradeoff, because you shouldn't have to choose between productivity and operational safety.
@eduardoboucas walks through how Netlify Database was designed with guardrails from day one: agents only ever touch their own database branch, production connection strings return read-only credentials, database deletion lives in the dashboard rather than the API, and your data is backed up before every production deploy.

I am super stoked to share I’ve started a new role as a Senior Community Manager at @Netlify! 🎉
Years ago before community was a thing, all I said to myself was "I don't care what the job is, I just wanna be loud and help others be heard."🗣️
Ramp's monthly Top Software Vendors is one of the best signals for where to work, where to invest, or who to sell to. Here are May's breakout + fastest growing vendors.
We observe that @tryramp customers with high AI intensity grow revenue ~4x faster. Great vendor selection is a critical part of being on the right side of the gap.
Every month, @arakharazian publishes the playbook.
Welcome to the 52k people who signed up for Netlify yesterday.
So many new builders are getting started right now.
It's such an exciting time to be building tools that make it simpler for teams to build and run meaningful software on the web.
Ramp TOP SAAS VENDORS MAY 2026 @tryramp
1. FIGMA is a fastest growing vendor, and the only publicly traded company on our list. Now competing with Claude Design.
2. AI inference platforms grew as businesses opted for cheaper models to combat exploding token budgets.
3. It's a great time to be in web deployment (Vercel, Netlify, Lovable)
@bhalligan This discipline is known as Agent Experience where legibility (and the extent thereof) is only one part of the solution to deal with. There's so much depth to this space
@Netlify is shipping some seriously helpful new features.
you can now use Netlify to set up a database for you so now all you need is Claude Code/Codex and the Netlify CLI to build + deploy anything.
You can also use their agent runners to actually build on Netlify too and then it gets really interesting because every time you make changes, you are in an isolated environment so the agent doesn't end up deleting important stuff from your production database.

Netlify is now available in Stripe Projects!
Developers and agents can provision a Netlify site straight from the terminal, as part of the same flow they use to set up the rest of their app. But provisioning is just the start. Netlify is where the project keeps going, through deploys, previews, and all the way to production.
One platform, from first command to shipped.

AI agents can scaffold your app in seconds. But what happens when they touch your database?
Netlify Database is live on @ProductHunt today! Fully managed PostgreSQL with automatic branching for Deploy Previews, so every run (yours or your agent's) gets its own isolated database. Test safely, ship confidently.
Come say hi 👋
Congrats to the @Netlify team! Netlify Database is GA, and they got the architecture right.
Branch per agent run, migrations as files, and no agent touches prod directly.
This is what safer agentic workflows look like. It's becoming the default.
One of the hardest parts of building apps used to be setting up and managing your database.
Now you can start building on @Netlify and a database will be automatically provisioned if your app needs it.
Each Agent Run you're building with is isolated, so you can safely test and iterate without affecting production.
I made a quick demo 👇
Meet the new Netlify Database.
Fully managed Postgres, built into the platform. Every agent run automatically gets its own database branch.
Here's why that matters. 🧵

This was an awesome experience esp. with a looming deadline! Pass thx on to the team @thisiskp_@Netlify has outdone themselves with this simple agent prompt to deploy your web app. Worked 100% first time from my local env, my Expo / React Native project, & Antigravity/Gemini
It's going to be an exciting time building agent-only paths for agents to deploy and manage their own sites, apps, and tools on battle-tested, trusted infrastructure with security governance baked in
The web is shifting. Code used to ship to Netlify. Now it starts here, from a prompt.
Today we're launching https://t.co/euYplfy9tF, a machine-readable starting line built for agents, not humans.
