“Happy New Year to the leadership and cadre of the J&K National Conference.
The New Year also brings renewed hope that the PROMISES made in the ELECTION MANIFESTO will now be fulfilled on the ground.”

Congratulations to Advocate Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi for winning the Budgam legislative assembly seat.
Best wishes from
President Bar Association Budgam
Administration shamefully ignoring the long-pending acquisition of land for the District Court Complex Budgam, which has been hanging in limbo since 2012. Govt at every level have failed to provide the basic judicial infrastructure. This is nothing less than institutional betrayal
I respectfully urge the authorities to restore the JKSRTC bus service between Srinagar and Charar-i-Sharief. Doing so would provide immense relief to thousands of daily commuters and would be a true step toward inclusive governance.

A warm farewell to outgoing Deputy Commissioner Budgam Mr. Akshay Labroo (IAS) on his transfer to District Srinagar. Best wishes extended for his new assignment.

To the Conscience Keepers of this Nation.
To the soul and spirit of Ambedkar, Gandhi, Nehru, and Jayaprakash Narayan—
Is this the democracy they dreamt of? A democracy where the chosen voice of 1.8 million people is locked away, silenced, erased?
Er. Rashid, the elected MP of Baramulla, still undergoes hungry in a prison cell while Parliament debates, legislates, and represents the people. His people voted. They stood in lines, inked their fingers, believed—if only for a moment—that democracy might still mean something.
And now, their chosen leader is missing, swallowed by the machinery of power.
Is this our tribute to their faith in democracy? To cage the man they sent to speak for them?
Where are the defenders of civil liberty? The warriors of democratic dissent? Are they buried under the weight of their own silence? Or have they learned to look away—like they always do when it comes to Kashmir?
A leader belongs with his people. He belongs in Parliament, not in a prison cell. If not him, then who will stand in the void? Who will carry the voices of Baramulla to the halls of power? Or does this country believe that Kashmiris do not deserve representation, only surveillance?. Should it not unnerve us and shake us that a democratically elected MP is denied bail.
That the very idea of dissent is criminalized. That the politics of this land have become a game where only the silent are allowed to play?
A democracy that jails its elected representatives is a democracy hanging by a thread.
This has been now more than 5 years now, my Abu G, my elected MP is away from us, just because he was calling spade a spade, just because he believes Democracy, or just because he never shyes away from electoral process, We all owe him his liberty, his freedom, as country, as democracy, as society, as collective responsibility, we owe him.
Regards
Abrar Rashid son of Incarcerated MP Baramulla Er. Rashid.
