@awaisaftab Was recently asked to suggest 8 at J of Nervous and Mental Disease. Was followed by quick turnaround and excellent reviews. Hope the same for you!
@psychgeist52@JRBneuropsiq That link is a series by one of the MDs that was involved in the conference. Can't find a way to link the conference videos but I think if you register in their CE system you'll be able to find the others. A lot of high quality CE for free there in general
@psychgeist52@JRBneuropsiq Austen Riggs Center just had a CE conference focused on this general topic. I think the sessions are available online for free now if you are interested. There were several very good presentations
@mattyglesias "More beds is biggest impediment" is a current talking point that belies the history of American psychiatry, does not account for the prospects of recovery and deflects from the need for improved funding for CMHCs and supported community housing.
@AllenFrancesMD Sure wish this graph being passed around Twitter today included additional lines for public funding of CMHCs and investment in supportive housing options in the community. The pining for the salad days of massive # of state hospital beds is concerning
@ebruenig Excellent, humane essay. As a psychologist who's spent my career in public sector w ppl diagnosed with severe mental illness, these instances and the lack of empathy is truly heartbreaking
If the suit still fits… This year, we’re bringing Jonathan Demme’s groundbreaking 1984 Talking Heads concert film STOP MAKING SENSE (newly remastered in 4K!) back to theaters worldwide. #StopMakingSense2023

@nadeemhasanpsyd Have a colleague whose comedy and drag act is pretty bawdy, and I think she finds it a bit more delicate navigating the identities than I do
@nadeemhasanpsyd I try to not compartmentalize too much. Have a public artist IG for instance. The portion of clients that have learned I'm a painter have typically reacted neutral to positive. My art isn't particularly provocative though which I think prob is a factor
