Snow arrives Sat evening from SW to NE. The heaviest snow is expected Sat night into Sun morning.

Freezing rain and sleet is expected to mix in and move northward through the day Sun, cutting snow totals where this occurs.

FIERY ROLLOVER CRASH LEAVES SEVERAL HURT, POSSIBLY INVOLVES STREET RACERS: Outerloop of I-495 at South Van Dorn Street in Franconia— a car flipped over on the Beltway and landed down on S Van Dorn Street, instantly catching fire.

Two people in the car were reportedly ejected, with at least one sustaining critical injuries. In total, seven people were transported to the hospital by EMS.

Virginia State Police had received reports of several cars racing on I-495 in the same area right before the crash occurred. Fairfax County Police’s Fairfax-1 🚁 assisted from above.

Extended closures on both the I-495 on-ramp and South Van Dorn Street, including near Alexandria.
