Cheers to the woman at the ER with the brain bleed who, after being told she was being airlifted to a better equipped hospital, told the doctor 'I'm not getting no $100k bill for a helicopter, I'll drive myself or let me die.'
Take a bow, US healthcare.
@PHuenermund Don't let anyone ruin your life over tenure. I had 2 kids at Stanford, plus a disabled mom. Did not get tenure & never regretted it for a second. I only have to look at my kids to see what a ridiculous choice that would have been. My only regret is not spending more time w my Mom
@PMoserEcon @PHuenermund Amen!
When my kids were little, another academic asked me if I worried about spending so much time with my kids….
I told her I was pretty sure I would not look back & wish I had written more papers and spent less time with my kids.
Years later, that is 100% true!
When I first watched EEAAO I cried tears from a place I didn’t know existed, let alone see in a film — cut through the brilliant layers & it is at heart a mother loving her queer daughter so much she would tear through the very fabric of reality to save her from psychic suicide —
.@cspan's #HouseSpeaker vote coverage is getting kudos. FYI: Our non-profit network doesn't get a dime of gov $$. Sadly, we're not avail to all pay TV customers, importantly @YouTubeTV and @hulu. Please help convince them to add C-SPAN to their lineups by liking and retweeting.
A reminder that Tommy Tuberville was a collegiate coach for nearly 30 years, during which he coached scores of Black players. He made millions off their abilities, but here’s what he really thinks about Black folks.
Super concerned with Matip and van Dijk's lack of effort to get back to defend for the second goal. Both have a lot to answer for in our defence's frailty. Trent gets a lot of stick for not covering bad defending by experienced centre backs.
One of the reasons the Boris Johnson saga is tough for American audiences to understand is because it seems that ousting political leadership over moral or ethical transgressions is not something that happens much in this country (anymore)
