@CityofEdmonton Hey @CityofEdmonton where are the no parking signs you speak of? We are unfortunately employee parking lot of AHS, our residents deserve clean streets too! #movethiercars
Our textbook will be published in April!!!! :D The Cambridge Manual of Network Science in Archaeology. We will reveal an awesome secret extra resource here on Friday 24 March: stay tuned and be very excited https://t.co/Y045SkAWIt @PattMeeples @CambridgeUP@AU_Archaeology
Lastly, this wasnโt an indigenous school where the children could celebrate and learn their culture. It was a residential school! Where children were forcibly isolated from their community and their culture there is a difference. Ps. The last residential school closed in 1996!
The apathy towards this horrific discovery is an issue in itself. But here is my take on why this discovery will be such an important turning point within archaeology and anthropology. (A thread)

I assure you there are probably many more similar sites throughout Canada. Thirdly, how the media portrays this story and the headlines accompanying this story shows that there is still a lot of work to be done in regards to reconciliation.
However, this will also inevitably how little diversity there is in anthropology and archeology. Secondly, how these children are excavated and repatriated will set the groundwork and framework on how these Canadian scholars will move forward in the future.
1. The excavation and repatriation of these individuals will (I hope) involve both the affected communities and a team of multi-talented individuals such as anthropologists. It is my hope that the team that is assembled will be a majority of indigenous scholars.
@Chloe_Lieng@OpenAcademics@AcademicChatter Feeling scared that others wouldnโt take me seriously because I do not devote all my time to my program. Having to work several part time jobs during grad school
