NEW: Purdue AD Tommy McClelland in his introductory press conference:
"We are here to win championships. If you don't want to win championships, go to Indiana."

"Is Curt Cignetti's entrance to the top layer of college football the most fascinating thing you can remember?" -@BFW
"It may be the greatest story we've ever had."
-@JoshPateCFB
"Maybe in sports." -Brandon
Chris Fowler said Indiana's roster age averaged like an NFL team during the CFP National Championship. That number's been repeated as gospel for 7 months since.
Nobody ever actually ran the numbers. So I did.
The real number might surprise you. https://t.co/x4J3gFlPR0
@floridabronco@FBSchedules@TNTCollegeFoot1 I'm extremely proud of IUFB. We fucking sucked, man. Shit, Western Michigan might have beaten us 3 year ago!
Since, we've only lost one game in the Big Ten conference and one game in the CFP!
FWIW, reported here, Southern Cal would only agree to renew the Notre Dame series if it could be scheduled early in the season. Which brought it into natural conflict with Notre Dame's series with Indiana.
Integrity in journalism is becoming a lost art.
@cbfowler you got fact checked and I hope every weekend on @CollegeGameDay you correct the narrative you falsely ignited with gas.
If anyone brings up the #IUFB roster age average you stuff them into a locker, on national TV.

They went 16-0 and in Sept. beat 2 teams that won a combined 20 games. Where one of those teams (ODU) finished second behind a CFP qualifier and played a closer game then the SEC 2nd place team. What are you talking about step it up? Don't let the SEC narrative fool you.
Got this email from a listener. He makes a good point.
The Big Ten has, by and large, done a very good job of scheduling nonconference games against P4 opponents.
The Big Ten just needs Indiana and Penn State to step up now.
@ralphDrussoATH@AriWasserman@Jon_Blau Slipped through the cracks? They went 16-0! Look at the entire schedule, including the CFP and Big Ten Championship.
It doesn't matter anyway they've got ND on future schedules and most likely will change some OOC opponents before the ND series. But this isn't an issue.
@AriWasserman Step up what? IUFB went 16-0 and, aside from the CFP Natty, boat raced the out of conference competition. This isn't an issue that folks are making this out to be.
@On3@AriWasserman Not enough Big Ten representation. No way only 3 get in. Especially if a 3 loss Bama made it last year. The committee will no longer give the nod to an SEC school over a B1G school. Based on consistent performance over the last 3 yrs and a 9 conference game schedule.
@FreddyLA7 Visit southern Indiana (Bloomington, Jasper, Evansville) during the fall. A big Deutschland heritage for a reason. You'll get it once you see it.
All the counties along the Ohio river in Indiana that border Kentucky are IU.
Catch an IUFB game.

@CaIvin21@On3 Data over opinion means using factual evidence instead of personal feelings to make choices.
Since 2023 the SEC 'good teams' are 14-19 against out of conference teams in the post season. They are 6-10 against the B1G. It gets worse, since 2024 they are 2-8 v B1G.

The SEC 'good teams' Post season record against out of conference teams (OOC)
2023: 5-6
2024: 7-6
2025: 2-7

"Whoever wins the National Championship doesn't define who has the best conference."
"I think the best conference gets defined by how many good teams you have from top to bottom."
Nick Saban weighs in on the Big Ten surpassing the SEC 🤔
