I've been having a look at the 'business' experience of the Cabinet, the people supposedly running the country, and the results are quite staggering.

From what I can see - out of twenty-six, just three have got any experience in creating or running a small business. And that's questionable experience at best...

Incredible, absolutely incredible.

How can these people understand what small business owners are going through, when almost none of them have experienced it themselves?

This isn't a rare career - they're not joining the SAS, it's running a small business.

There are 5.5 million SMEs in the UK - they deserve proper representation at the highest level of Government.

Now Labour are talking about imposing rafts of new burdensome legislation on these hardworking entrepreneurs.

Only three in Cabinet have any idea of what this actually entails - if it's more than that, I am happy to be corrected...

Those running small businesses deal with a vast range of issues on a daily basis - it is bloody difficult. I've done it myself, over and over again. People giving it a go, taking a risk, have my total respect.

In my view, the best thing Government can do to help small businesses? LEAVE THEM ALONE.
