There is a reason people:
- Stay at the Ritz-Carlton
- Eat at the high end Steakhouse
- Shop at Whole Foods
- Go to their favorite salon or barber
- Fly first class
It’s because they are willing to pay a higher price for the experience and quality they are receiving.
Each one of the above have a cheaper alternative:
- Staying at a Motel 6
- Eating at Outback Steakhouse
- Groceries from Aldi or Wal-Mart
- Going to Great Clips or Best Cuts
- Flying coach on a budget airline
We know that at either you will get your own room with a bed, a piece of beef, the food you need, a haircut, and transportation to where you are going.
This example is no different than working with a financial advisor. There are models where you can pay a much reduced cost to get a call center at your disposal.
Then there are firms who charge premium prices and provide a first class experience.
What you shouldn’t expect is to ask someone providing first class service to charge average prices. What would happen if you walked into the Ritz-Carlton and asked if they would charge the Motel 6 rate?
You’d be laughed out of the lobby! The point is there is a market for everything mentioned, and you need to understand what it is you are looking for and how to align your expectations, what you are paying, and the service you are getting
@GeorgeSilverman In some classes, FOMO has been talked about as a part of social media that keeps people addicted to their phones, "infinite scrolling" etc. And while there can be that negative aspect to it, it is definitely a positive to keep people engaged to your content. #TwitterSmarter
@MadalynSklar A6: Making a recap of the most interesting parts of your content, while advertising when the next instance of your content will be taking place so your audience can plan ahead in order not to miss it again. #TwitterSmarter
@MadalynSklar A4: I would define preFOMO as generating hype or buzz for an upcoming event, and incentivizing your audience to not want to miss it. #TwitterSmarter
@MadalynSklar A2: Yes. Even if you only have a niche following, if you generate content that people look forward to, you will keep them coming back. #TwitterSmarter
