@SimonCalder @cazb1682 I’m exactly the same thinking will I be wrongly denied boarding for a short break to Cyprus 1/11/25-6/11/25 from LGW, though i know my passport meets both requirements and completely valid for EU travel. Issued 9/3/16 exp. 9/7/26. Don’t see why I should have to renew so early!

@Ukstatto @SimonCalder Yep already printed pg 27-29! Makes the rules with the 2 requirements super clear - pp <10 years old on entry, 3 months validity on leaving. It’s that simple, plus gives such a clear example of this, hence I just don’t understand how this could even be challenged when presented

@SimonCalder Wow, super anxious re: travel next week with EJ to Cyprus. pp issue 9/3/16. Exp 9/7/26 so I know valid for travel up to 9/3/26 for stay up to June 2026. Already printed out border guard handbook pg 27-29, plus printed the EJ travel doc passport checker confirming clear for travel

@Vicky_F1Girl @SimonCalder Yes invalid for entry to EU if issue date for eg, was 29 May 2015 and EU entry was 31 May 2025 that would be over 10yrs old despite the https://t.co/ymfOPOYx1a being 2026. If EU entry was, say, 27 May 2025, that would be valid for entry as <10yrs old, regardless of 2026 exp. date

Eg: If issued 30/5/15, exp. feb 2026, valid for EU entry up to 29/5/25 for stay up to 90 days as expires 2/26? I thought https://t.co/ymfOPOXZbC is just that regardless of additional months

@Vicky_F1Girl @SimonCalder Apologies, was the passport issued pre-Brexit? What was the date of issue? Even if there are additional months carried over the 10 yr mark and the passport expires May 26’ that’s still valid for travel to EU (3 mths remain on exit from Greece) is that correct Simon??

@SimonCalder @Vicky_F1Girl That’s terrible, so sorry for your daughter, can I ask which airline this was? - Simon since when do we need a full 12 mths on passports for EU travel? That’s a complete disregard of the rules isn’t it?? Less than 10 yrs old on entry day+3 mths validity on EU exit? Correct?

@SimonCalder Sorry but I find this appalling! Surely there must be someone who has to take ownership/responsibility for airlines needlessly and repeatedly turning passengers away like this. Everyone seems completely powerless to stop it and that can’t be right!

@pt27red @easyJet Yep agree, terrible, only has flight details and cannot add full holiday itinerary which was always easily added. Just shows and stays on a blank white screen. Won’t allow sign in to view booking etc. Was so much better than this previously
