@cmerry It does make you wonder if they said “abdominal surgery” to draw attention away from truth when we see her. If her face was damaged (broken jaw? eye socket?) she would need reconstructive surgery/weeks of recovery. I hope it’s all specs & she’s fine, maybe even found a way out

I didn’t realize this settlement was reached in Aug 2023. It was LONG overdue. Henrietta Lacks’ cells were harvested in 1951 but her family was not compensated for the trillions of dollars in profits made from those cells for 73 years. #HeLa #HeLacells #reparations
