Alberta’s public education system is in crisis. I just pledged to vote for public education in this upcoming provincial election. Will you join me? https://t.co/3qb1V9GODZ
Albertans deserve leadership that actually cares about our students and values the experience teachers bring to the table. Read more here: https://t.co/wXCeeED2Yh
The Minister's announcement today is largely financed by school boards’ internal reserves rather than new funding. This is short-term, does little to address the deficiencies in funding which have led to large and growing class sizes and inadequate support for student learning.
No evidence. No data.
These are the actions of a Premier focused on protecting himself.
These are not the actions of a Premier focused on protecting you.
This and other reports of protests at schools is simply unacceptable. The mandates, whether you like them or not, are a decision of government not individual teachers.
What do you say about this @AdrianaLaGrange@jkenney? You support this? Maybe hope on Facebook and let us know.
There is an important victory embedded in today’s announcement for students, teachers, parents and public education. Thousands of Albertans took part; they pushed hard with relentless advocacy. We must acknowledge that change would not have been possible without that effort. /1
The MLA for Red Deer-North was handed a golden opportunity to lead one of the world’s top-performing jurisdictions when it comes to K–12 education.
Instead of supporting and fostering it, she has delivered nonstop attacks intended to weaken, politicize, and destabilize it. /1

“I ended up getting COVID-19, one of the variants, & it nearly killed me,” says Bernie Cook, 46, who recently spent two weeks in the ICU. He hadn’t gotten his vaccine yet. “Maybe not taking it as seriously as I could have…and it nearly cost me my life.” https://t.co/x8IgPSi2Ga
Two quick takes--Health Minister says masks reduce the spread of the virus but it doesn't apply to schools...where is the mythical data that says covid doesn't spread in schools? Second, schools need contact tracing information to help protect those learning and working there.
So let me get this straight, I did everything asked of me, didn’t see family for 18 months, kept my cohort small, waved at loved ones through a screen, got vaccinated to protect myself and others, did all the right things, and the people who send me hate mail get $100?
Many School Boards across the province have been calling on government to prioritize their staff for vaccinations, yet @shandro, @@AdrianaLaGrange and @jkenney continue to ignore them. Time to make this happen.
The Government of Alberta has ignored the recommendations of the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) by not prioritizing front-line workers for COVID-19 vaccines.

Was watching the Premier’s Facebook Live and someone asked about cuts to Education and he stated that Education had seen an increase by 200 to 300 million, in 2019 school boards were cut by 128 million dollars leaving them scrabbling to make up the shortfall. /1
