@Arda_Industries We're building AI for American manufacturing. We're helping manufacturers produce faster and build flexible, automated assembly lines.
Thrilled to partner with @bobmcgrewai ! Arda is on a BIG mission to speed up American manufacturing.
I’ve had the good fortune of knowing Bob, P Woody, Lucas, Grace, Tim, Paul and several friends at Arda for over a dozen years. Can certify that this crew does not make any small plans! :)
It's early innings. If you’re an engineer or researcher looking for a big mission, please reach out!
We’ve spent the past year developing new primitives for GPUs. We believe this enables new algorithms to change how machines learn, open new markets, and dramatically reshape AI’s cost structure.
We have raised a $1 billion Series A, co-led by Index and Lux.
We formally announced Mirendil less than 4 months ago. Today, I'm excited to share an important milestone for:
Pretraining at scale without a pretraining team.
Mirendil's mission is to solve Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI) and use it to democratize frontier AI development, ultimately accelerating science and technology. At Mirendil, when we think about RSI, we think holistically about the company as an intelligent entity that self-improves toward its goal. From that perspective, the most powerful notion of acceleration is reducing the time and resources (number of human experts, compute, and other costs) needed to achieve ambitious goals.
Given that pretraining is perhaps the most important yet most challenging part of frontier AI development, we decided to run an ambitious controlled experiment: Starting fully from scratch, can we significantly reduce the time, number of human experts, and compute resources needed to go all the way to successfully pretraining a strong coding model at scale?
Mirendil-Base is the result of this experiment. Our first pretrained model was built by one researcher in 3.5 months, with less than $10M in compute. This includes all the research and small-scale experiments it took to get there, as well as the final training run.
The recipe holds up as the models get bigger. For reference, Mirendil-Base is in the 100B-500B parameter range, Mirendil-Base-Large in the 500B-2T range, and Mirendil-Base-XL in the 2T-10T range.
We're beginning to see a world where a single researcher, empowered by AI, can take on work that once required an entire research organization. As these systems improve, the bottleneck shifts from the size of a team to the ambition and judgment of the people directing them. This has profound implications for who gets to build AI and, ultimately, who gets to push the frontiers of science and technology forward.
We’ll share independent evaluations, post-training benchmarks and API-access sooner than you think so stay tuned!
one of the most fun things about launching @Arda_Industries is I now get to brag about my colleagues -- starting with @Jen_ben_arye who first introduced me to @gstsdn and @bobmcgrewai. Working with @Jen_ben_arye is an inspiring beyond belief and the hardest working person I have met! Extremely fun times together @Arda_Industries
Thrilled to share that I’ve recently joined the incredible team at @Arda_Industries! We’re working to make manufacturing move at the speed of innovation with AI.
And we’re hiring! Come build more things with us 🚀
Finally get to share what I’ve been working on since finishing my PhD at @MIT_CSAIL .
At @Arda_Industries, we’re developing AI that can figure out how to build things. From understanding a product design to planning its assembly, and eventually getting robots to carry it out.
I get to work on some of the most challenging problems, alongside some of the smartest and kindest people I’ve ever worked with. Arda’s mission hit close to home for me: ensuring the strategic safety of the US and its allies for years to come. We’re having a blast and are hiring rapidly!
I'm super excited to share what I've been working on this year at @Arda_Industries. This team is incredible and I know we will achieve amazing things together 🚀
At @Arda_Industries, we’re putting AI to work in the physical world to speed up American manufacturing. Proud to work alongside the incredible people at Arda who share this mission.
Build more things! 🇺🇸🚀
Getting Arda off the ground has been one of the highlights of my career.
Arda helps other companies rapidly manufacture new, complex products at scale, and then change those products quickly as the world changes.
We’ve been talking about how the industrial wave is coming. With @Arda_Industries, it’s officially here.
Today, Arda comes out of stealth with an AI agent that turns CAD files into assembly instructions. It’s already been deployed across every division at @anduriltech, reducing engineering workflows from 30 hours to 2.5.
That's step one of a three-act plan. Next: use those instructions to train robotic production lines that adapt quickly to new designs. Then: make it possible to build anything domestically.
Thrilled that we at @Felicis have joined this round. More at @felicis: https://t.co/8NTAiYH0Xx
Hardware's no longer just “designed in the United States.” With @Arda_Industries, we build here, too.
Today Arda is out of stealth with an AI agent that turns CAD files into assembly instructions. At @anduriltech, it cut 10 hours of work to 15 minutes.
We’re proud to join its Series A. @pxd and @curious_graham on why we invested: https://t.co/XIxfNEqhXz
