Very sorry to hear about the death of my old PhD supervisor @DMMacRaild. He was a brilliant and prodigious historian, proud son of Barrow-in-Furness (but with roots in the Hebrides), a fanatical LFC supporter, and just a wonderfully warm and funny man. RIP Don, you will be missed

Last day of my fellowship @MCGlobalHistory. I've had an amazing time, plus have a first draft of an article I've wanted to write for ages on 'Distressed' British Merchant Seamen in the 1920s.
