Read the letter from our co-founder in today's @guardian ... we need to tackle domestic disinformation as well as foreign interference in UK elections.

Thanks for including us @michaelsavage@Rory_Foster.
When the Guardian went on strike to protest the Observer sale, I became a de facto spokesperson. Later a Tortoise employee I’d never met wrote to me to cancel my 20-year contract. No goodbye & no pay-off. This is how they now take credit for my work..but write me out of the story

A very constructive meeting between our CEO @jenniferdnadel and Sir Alan Campbell, the @CommonsLeader and Chair of the Modernisation Committee on how to make parliament less adversarial and more inclusive, modern and efficient. @5050Parliament

1. The media has picked up on the role increased ad spend can play at the next general election (Observer email lead below).
Grateful if you can mention the need for election ad regulation as recomneded by the HoL in 2020 today.

Sweden's progressive bloc shows the UK what our new politics can be - the Green-Left and the centre coming together to achieve 80% of what they want, not 100% of what they don't want.
This is how we defeat not just Reform but the causes of Reform. Not by tribalism, not by progressives dividing, but by listening to what people want and working together to reflect it. The Progressive Majority exists - it now needs to be galvanised.
*BRILLIANT*
The French made a short film about what could happen after all immigrants would follow the ‘_white, angry old man’s_’ advice to go back where they came from.*
Nepal's Foreign Minister has demanded compensation from the nations which have driven climate change, but he refuses to rise to anger - instead choosing compassion and empathy. Imagine if every politician bypassed the sideshow of rage and chose #compassion
@rogermosey I agree. The BBC faces difficult decisions in 2027. It would be a HUGE shame to see Newsnight go... I also think the 2023 rebrand with VD has been largely successful. The problem is digital first chasing clicks/views/ followers can be a race to the bottom

Two thoughts on the future of Newsnight:
1. The BBC surely can’t take a decision on this before it appoints a new director of news
2. Against my expectations, Newsnight has added real value in its new format. The BBC portfolio would be poorer without it.
We're pleased to say Compassion in Politics (@CompInPolitics) has joined as a co-sponsor of the Better! coalition.
Together we can deliver Better Votes, Better Media and Better Taxes to change the failed operating system of British politics.
As Labour eyes welfare cuts again, @Neal_Compass sets out why Starmer's approach failed - and how Burnham could build a welfare settlement that actually holds.
