Do health plans cite different types of evidence for drugs indicated for different diseases?

Analysis of the SPEC Database shows stark differences across diseases

Some highlights:
Cardiology: 63% Clinical guidelines
Respiratory: 39% RCTs
Ophthalmology: 19% RWE

@planetJoseph Wishtree by Katherine Applegate was that book at our house. The Mr. Terrupt series by Rob Buyea (we read these at 9 and 10). Vanderbeekers are less sad but have their moments. The Chicken squad series with Diamond Lil is a lighthearted dog series when you need a sad break.

@Pam_Rubin1 2) the second was on how people preferred different communication styles. We used that at team meetings for the next 9 months.
Bottom line both had a debrief and what we would take back. Without that it is just an afternoon or day lost with work yet to be done.

How often do health plans update their specialty drug coverage policies?

In @JMCP, we showed that between 2017-2019 plans adjusted coverage criteria (eg, step therapy) in 17% of their policies

In 84% plans updated the evidence (eg, RWE) cited in support of their decisions

@clhubes Noyes children’s library in Kensington has story time, and music several times a week. We loved boxes. Give the 3-yo a box from your move (crayons, tape, it was hours). Washable paints to create stained glass window/door.

@Pam_Rubin1 As a mentor: especially #3 Follow-up: Did you accomplish it or try X, YZ? Add #4 clarifying when/how often to follow back up (especially if they didn't do the work).

As a mentee: Mentors that frame quesitons vs. simply "copy/paste" their experiences. Mentees are not a mini-me.
