@henrywinter I wrote to Patrick when I was 18 because I loved football and wanted a job in it. He invited me to meet him and I’ll never forget his kindness. I ended up on a different path but he was a legend of journalism. RIP

[Sue Cowley @Sue_Cowley]

I'm doing a free giveaway to celebrate the publication of my latest book! Like and retweet to enter (UK only). Winner announced on Sunday. Link to find out more about the book below. #freebie #giveaway

Every month this year, I intend to give away a full class set of one book via @ANewChapterBks - I truly believe a full class set is one of the most valuable resources a teacher can have when teaching reading.

No faff to enter, just retweet and consider yourself in.

January.

@EyesShutTeacher Oh my goodness I absolutely loved these. Think I was about 10 (1980). Would go to the local library to get one, buy a Starbar, and sit on a chair behind my mum (as she watched the racing on tv) and devour the stories.

[Jenny Fredrickson @JennyFredricks5]

@MrBoothY6 and @wolverhamhead thanks so much for the reading workshop at your lovely school today. Came away with lots of ideas and inspiration!

[Jenny Fredrickson @JennyFredricks5]

@MrBoothY6 @dan1987_30 I didn’t read it as that! Always have a lot of time for your comments. Our GD was significantly down this year so I would like to see how they do in an hour as I don’t feel I can definitely gauge their quality of SATs answers or pace from previous NFER data or my lessons.

[Jenny Fredrickson @JennyFredricks5]

@BeckAdlington thank you for your upbeat commentary. Really enjoying the BBC coverage, thanks in no small part to your insights.

[Jenny Fredrickson @JennyFredricks5]

@Sue_Cowley 8x12 and 9x12. Always need a moment for those two 🤣
