SPASH business teacher, Asst Girls Soccer coach and Asst AD, father and spouse. JudgingBouncingBalls and Financial Bits Podcast. Blessed by many around me!
I decided to launch a podcast based on my Personal Finance class that I teach. The podcast is called Financial Bits and the goal is to have single topics that I explain similarly to my class.
In conversations with community members, I am learning that there is a need even
@sircalebhammer Great work Caleb! Would love to work with you and observe how you do things. I teach personal finance and have a podcast(not PF) an really enjoy your show. Would love to help you in anyway I could. Keep up the good work!
@ImCollegeSoccer I understand why this happens, but it has led to a pay to play. I have seen a number of players that were ECNL that weren't as good as GA or USYS that go D1, while those other players struggle. Feels like it has turned into, "pay for ECNL and you can play D1, don't pay, sorry!"
@charliekirk11 About 70% choose a flat tax, of about 10-15% with no deductions. Typically this isn't the case, but in the last couple years this has been the case. They talk about fairness and that you shouldn't pay more %, just because you make more. Interesting to say the least!
@charliekirk11 I teach personal finance in WI high school, and one thing that has really surprised me this past year is a taxes unit that I teach. I do an assignment where're they create what they think would be the perfect income tax, in their opinion, before we talk about what it is.
@jasonstew72@ImCollegeSoccer Trust me, it makes it tough. It has frustrated my daughter. Especially since her HS team was starting over when she got there.
@Ebrough25@ImCollegeSoccer Not a professional like you, just a dad, but i agree. I think there is more value to HS than a lot of people give it credit for.
Some of the worst advice on the internet. Go into debt to get a Rolex so you can impress some woman that likes material things and is attracted to you, only to find out you are in debt living a life you can't afford. Yeah, that will work out great!
@GrantCardone I found it interesting in my Personal Finance classes I teach to high schoolers, had a project to create the income tax policy they thought was best. About 60% chose a flat tax for fairness and simplicity.
@BrianRoemmele@elonmusk Have thought about getting premium for my account, but is low on the priority list with inflationary costs. Love your idea for someone!
@CharlieKNews I teach personal finance to high schoolers, and I recently had student present changes they would make to the current income tax system. I was surprised that about 60% of them proposed a flat tax of about 15%. Citing fairness to all incomes as the main reason. Interesting!
📊 Here's a look at 2 different Power4⃣Women's Soccer Programs since the 2018 season. They are on opposite sides of the Roster Stability spectrum. Both can provide a great experience, and, both experiences will be vastly different. #CollegeSoccer#TransferPortal
Most people think self care is watching Netflix, bubble baths, and overall hedonistic behavior.
When it’s really going to sleep on time, working out daily, and eating a healthy diet.
If you only work hard when you feel motivated, you’ll never be consistent enough to reach your biggest goals. To succeed in life, you need to have the discipline to work hard even when you don’t feel like it.
Returners:
I don’t care if you were first team all conference, all region, made the travel roster or started every game last season,………
there are no guarantees you play this year.
I’m not just going to give you playing time. You have to earn it all over again.
