@GuySquiggs The constant debauchery around the parks in the local PNW is fucking crazy making. Great choices by your kids (obviously). Still sucks, though
Breaking— Thurston county activist judge, Chris Lanese, ruled against us today and we didn’t even get a chance to present our case!!!!
WARNING POTLDR (pissed off too long did not read)
I-26-645 would repeal Washington's new income tax. State law requires the government's ballot disclosure to be neutral. We challenged the Attorney General's financial impact statement on those grounds. Our hearing got bumped by an unrelated party in Thurston County — and Lanese used that unrelated case to rule against us too, without letting us argue ours.
He exposed his bias in the earlier case when he called tax-cut initiatives "not neutral" and blamed budget gaps on people who don't want to pay taxes. Except I-26-645 cuts no appropriation. The tax it repeals generates zero revenue until 2029. State spending is up 55% after inflation and population growth, and lawmakers just passed the two largest tax increases in state history.
The AG writes the one sided ballot title. The AG then gets to write a one sided financial impact statement. If uncontested, it goes straight onto the ballot, not the pamphlet as god designed it to go. We used the one process under WA law to challenge the AG wording and Judge Lanese slammed the door door shut before we even said a word.
If we are going to make a change in WA we are going to have to fight for it— get out and vote Yes in November to repeal the income tax.
If you live in Thurston County, log it in your brain that Judge Lanese is up for re-election in 2028.
Oh and just a reminder, this same judge who essentially gave a stranger standing in our case regarding the financial impact statement just happens to be the very same judge who denied @WAPolicyGreen Todd Myers standing when he petitioned the department of ecology to release their carbon reduction numbers to the citizens of the state as they are required by law.
So this activist Judge Lanese, denies citizen’s standing when they address the state but willy nilly gives standing to strangers when it supports their clearly pro tax judicial stance (watch the video below to see his unhinged and extremely biased approach to the income tax impact statement we were not allowed to argue!)
@GuySquiggs@MelonieMac Thank you, my longtime friend. I am as measured and disciplined as I want to be, but boy am I too often looking for my pound of flesh with this C-19 shit. BTW: What L-District are you in? 44th?
@GuySquiggs@MelonieMac The hesitation from the people I am close with, when I mirror the same response you have had of “Nuremberg 2.0”, has been bothersome to me. I don’t know…it just seems appropriate through my lens. I was given 1hr to say goodbye father/hero…because of Fauci’s made up rules.
@courtneyknill We (dudes) honestly don’t care too much. I’ve been a best man 4x and a groomsman 7x. Engraved beer mugs, knives, cuff links…we will keep them and use them sparingly because of their personal value to us; I’d keep a gifted toothpick from one of my top dudes, haha.
@seattletimes Because the communists made life so diabolically difficult that the patriotic people moved, so now we just have commie scum that get a voice for this topic that wouldn’t even be a thing 15 years ago
Patrick Wisdom on his backfoot putout to the plate:
"It's like extra alert, but you try to calm yourself because you don't want to white-knuckle it out there. But just kind of be athletic, and you're obviously aware that that's the tying run."
Factual thoughts….@ScottPelley and @mhenryschuster were embedded with my Marine infantry unit in 2009—it was incredibly violent in Helmand. They told our story well. Years later, my unit suffered multiple suicides, they came back to cover that too. I wrote him when I was hired.
