The curled octopus (Eledone cirrhosa) has been known to science since the 4th century BCE. It gets its common name from the fact that the tips of its arms are curled at rest. It is also known as the horned octopus, after its horn-like papillae above each eye.

It might not look like it, but Galiteuthis phyllura is one of the biggest squids around. These funky cranchiids are estimated to have a maximum mantle length of 2.7 m!

It's no wonder that these are relatives of the colossal squid!
