Seeing Black people be antagonistic and just plain evil toward Palestinians and immigrants post election makes me so sad. Like are y’all prioritizing the Democratic Party over real life human beings??
Now I’ve written about Black women being mules for society (especially in Muvaship) but my point has been to divest from those who do not see us human and just use us as tools to get their needs covered
Pretty sure insulting/dismissing voters - even if they’re annoying you, disrupting you, protesting you - in a key swing state isn’t the best way to win that state. Assuming that they *have* to vote for you, otherwise Trump will win, doesn’t work. Just ask Hillary Clinton 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Malcolm X: "I have no mercy or compassion in me for a society that will crush people, and then penalize them for not being able to stand up under the weight."
I think the Cord Jefferson quote was dropped right in the midst of the very weird and anti Black “I’m scared of hood people” discourse & people are reading dislike of poor Black folk into his quote rather than his dislike of the film industry’s barriers
Honestly watching movies with my husband is my favorite thing to do. Basing it off the Oscar’s list allowed us to agree on what to watch without much disagreement. It’s been fun to relive our memories/ conversations while watching the award show.
