I don't normally comment on the news of the day, but the shooting of Charlie Kirk is so wicked and so grievous. It's sad to see my own kids affected. Like many Gen Zers, they love his videos. I'm grateful for the many times he clearly and cheerfully made much of Jesus Christ. If you want to honor his legacy, pick up a Bible, read about Jesus, and see what Kirk believed in. May God bless his family. May God bless America.
@colinsmo I disagreed with him and still was impressed by his decorum and statesmanship.
My thought: his position seemed consistent with the types of things a person in his role should worry over.
That particular point wasn’t persuasive to me, but I registered the warning.
@iliketopreach I’m concerned that the Law Amen didn’t pass — the role of the office of pastor is for qualified men only.
A simple truth: chrchs in our con have women serving with the title pastor.
The credentials comm isn’t holding the line, the LA provides the clarity we need to progress.
As a young minister, I aspired to "do great things" for God.
But after watching many fizzle out and fall away from Jesus, my ambitions have been refined.
Today I aspire to simply grow in my love for God, make it to glory, and bring as many with me as I can.
Jesus, hold me fast
@joe_rigney I wanted to personally thank you for your new book—
A few words: solid, clear, biblical, artful, persuasive, challenging.
Thank you brother.
A favorite quote,
“A godly man runs his course with joy…first in, last out, laughing loudest.”
Used to be If someone asked in a sneering tone,
"And Why do you believe the Bible?"
I would present an erudite epistemological argument in a vain attempt to get them to view me as a thoughtful intellectual and not just some hillbilly who relies on faith alone.
Now I just say... "Oh, because it's the word of God."
There is a place for good argumentation and persuasion.
But many in the Church today need to repent of their fear of man, and instead, Fear God.
That is, after all the beginning of knowledge.
The mocker will not be convinced by your fancy argument. He knows God is real and he hates him (Romans 1).
He doesn't need convincing, he needs repentance.
Boldly proclaim the Gospel and pray that God grants repentance.
Stand firm on the word of God BECAUSE it is The Word of God!
@AndySlater I'm flying RDU to MIA, flight is delayed currently 30 min. They just announced that they will board soon, but have to time take off b/c air traffic control is limiting arrivals.
Four generations of church planters over fifteen years of relationships.
Can't tell you how blessed I am to be a spiritual great-grandfather.

The Bathysphere, considered the world's first deep-sea exploration vessel, emerged during the 1930s. This groundbreaking invention was a collaboration between American naturalist William Beebe and engineer Otis Barton. The Bathysphere was designed to withstand immense pressure and allow researchers to descend to great depths in the ocean. Inside the vessel, William Beebe (depicted in a photograph) embarked on daring expeditions, venturing into the mysterious depths of the sea. The development of the Bathysphere marked a significant milestone in deep-sea exploration, opening up new possibilities for studying and understanding the hidden wonders of the underwater world.
