@Rob_ThaBuilder I don't think liberal values as in enlightenment values that hold the individual more important than the collective were ever leftwing values. Communism was never about free speech, communism being the farthest left.
The numbers don't lie. BC's overdose deaths exploded under NDP decriminalization and 'safe supply,' handing out pills that ended up on the streets. Eby himself called it a failure. Now, as they quietly kill the program, deaths are falling. While other provinces saw trends, no one matched BC's disaster under this policy.
We said all along: ideology over reality kills people. Protect families and communities. Prioritize treatment and recovery. Common sense Conservatives will end this nonsense and get BC back on track.
@flak_henry@PierrePoilievre So we have the best deal, why is everyone complaining so much? We also have all these awesome deals with countries like China plus so many new approved projects. Our recession is just technical, doesn't even matter. We're doing great.
@enney4real@WSJ They don't change their strategy to reflect the will of the people, they do it in spite of the will of the people. Everyone worries about themselves first, even progressives in their own convoluted way.
@Concern70732755 I think Hunter is a sideshow as does Vassy. She actually does do pretty hardball interviews with sitting liberals. There are far better people in Canadian media to slag.
@Acyn Progressives have been whipping people into a frenzie over the potential of facism and the 'far right', covid, climate and genocide for years, while offering no substantial difference to the status quo in terms of legislation. All while, people fear their safety due to more crime
@ryangerritsen It's not that weird. Boomers and property owners who vote the most heavily are still doing a lot better than most. They are able to isolate themselves from bad neighbourhoods and are not concerned with housing prices as they are sitting on tonnes of speculative wealth.
Yet another example of progressive activism masquerading as journalism.
The study data mentioned in this story is almost four years old. CTV somehow decided that it was newsworthy, and then used it as a foundation for a puff piece in support of supervised consumption sites. Only harm reduction advocates are quoted. High quality studies that reflect poorly on SCSs are conspicuously omitted.
For example: the journalist interviewed *one* user of Alberta’s SCSs to give the false impression that that these spaces are lifesaving — but then omitted a recent study, published just this spring, which found that closing the SCS in Red Deer led to no increase in hospitalizations or deaths.
Calling this article “journalism” would be extremely generous. No wonder public trust in media is declining.
@preta_6@MarkJCarney@Dave_Eby I've never seen weaker leadership than Eby. If you have no idea whether your constituents will hate something or not, then you really have no business pretending you represent them.

@talisresearch@unusual_whales Definitely. Feels like they are just trying to manage a plateau, which will be a lost decade for young people and allow boomers to go out in style.
Renee Merrifield with an excellent commentary on the situation in Canada.
Our Government, the media and the citizens have been so focused on blaming Trump for the issues in Canada when in reality he is the scapegoat of the very issues and decline that’s been happening in our Country for over a decade.
