LOOKING BACK: I launched "Seattle's Unending Drug Crisis" last summer. Unfortunately, the open air drug use and overdose deaths are still happening at an alarming rate. There is no way I would have been able to air this in full on local TV. It's not "brand safe." You can't sell diaper ads next to these raw realities. But that's also why so many of you have encouraged me to keep on going with my journalism, to shine a spotlight on the urban decay and failed policies in this great American city.
