THE LAST POWER
PART 15: THE LAST POWER
Mira woke to silence.
No alarms.
No gunfire.
No glowing sky.
Just sunlight.
Real sunlight.
She opened her eyes.
Daniel was sitting beside her.
His hand was wrapped around hers.
She smiled weakly.
"Did we win?"
Daniel laughed.
"I don't know."
Mira looked around.
The forest was still standing.
The station was destroyed.
The rift was gone.
And the sky was blue.
"What happened to him?"
Daniel looked down.
"He's gone."
Mira's smile disappeared.
"Daniel..."
"He chose to stay behind."
She closed her eyes.
Then she felt something.
A faint warmth in her palm.
She opened her hand.
A tiny black spark flickered against her skin.
Mira smiled.
"He's not gone."
Daniel looked at the spark.
"No."
He smiled.
"He's just finally quiet."
They returned to the settlement three days later.
The world had changed.
Everywhere, people were waking up with abilities.
Some could heal.
Some could fly.
Some could control fire.
Some could manipulate machines.
Some were terrified.
Others were already fighting.
The blackout was over.
But the world had entered something new.
A world where everyone had to decide what their power meant.
Daniel stood beside Mira on the settlement wall.
"You know what's funny?"
"What?"
"For three years, I thought losing my powers made me less of a man."
Mira looked at him.
"And now?"
He smiled.
"Now I realize they were never what made me strong."
Mira leaned against his shoulder.
"You finally figured that out?"
"Apparently it took the end of the world."
She laughed.
Then Daniel looked at her.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
Mira knew what he meant.
Three years ago.
Her secret.
She looked toward the horizon.
"Because I was afraid you'd stop loving me."
Daniel took her hand.
"I was never afraid of you."
She looked at him.
"I know."
He smiled.
"I was afraid of becoming someone you didn't need."
Mira squeezed his hand.
"You were never someone I needed."
He frowned.
"That's not very romantic."
She smiled.
"You were someone I chose."
Daniel's expression softened.
Below them, children ran through the settlement.
For the first time in three years, the lights came on.
One by one.
The world was no longer dark.
Mira looked at the horizon.
A single golden light appeared in the distance.
Then a blue one.
Then a black one.
She smiled.
Three powers.
Three paths.
One world.
And somewhere beyond the sky, a familiar voice whispered one final time.
"This time, choose wisely."
Mira looked at Daniel.
He looked back.
They held hands.
And together...
they stepped into the light.
SHE CRIED LIKE SHE WAS LOSING THE LOVE OF HER LIFE… BUT I WAS THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN LOSING MYSELF ALL ALONG.
I met a girl I genuinely thought could be someone special.
She seemed like a good person. Calm, sweet, and different from the kind of people I'd encountered before.
So I decided to give us a chance.
I wasn't looking for perfection. I just wanted honesty, loyalty, and someone I could trust.
Unfortunately, trust became the first thing I lost.
The first time I caught her cheating, I was hurt.
But I forgave her.
The second time, I started questioning everything.
Then it happened again.
More than once, I found things on her phone that made it impossible for me to keep pretending everything was okay.
I had already caught her cheating multiple times, yet every time she cried, apologized, promised she would change, and begged me not to leave.
And somehow, I kept giving her another chance.
But eventually, I realized something.
Forgiveness without change becomes permission to keep hurting you.
The final time I checked her phone, I discovered even more about the kind of life she had been living behind my back.
At that point, it wasn't even about jealousy anymore.
It was about realizing that the person I thought I was building a relationship with wasn't the person I had believed her to be.
She cried.
She begged.
She told me she loved me.
She wanted me to take her back.
And honestly, seeing someone cry because they don't want to lose you can break your heart.
But I had to ask myself a difficult question:
“If I take her back, what exactly am I returning to?”
The same lies?
The same cheating?
The same excuses?
The same cycle of forgiving, discovering, hurting, and forgiving again?
I finally understood that sometimes loving someone doesn't mean you have to stay with them.
Sometimes you can care about someone deeply and still decide that they are not good for your peace.
I didn't leave because I hated her.
I left because I finally understood that I deserved a relationship where I didn't have to investigate to find the truth.
I deserved honesty without checking a phone.
Loyalty without begging for it.
Peace without constantly wondering what was happening behind my back.
She may eventually change.
I sincerely hope she does.
But I don't have to stay around and be hurt while she figures herself out.
Sometimes the hardest goodbye is the one you make while the other person is still begging you to stay.
And that's when you have to choose between your feelings for someone...
and your respect for yourself.
Do people not realize that Medusa was treated very wrongly, and people still think of her as the bad guy, when all she needed was someone to really love her?
What I really liked about this is that they could actually depict the sadness Medusa faced in her face. Turning people to stone was something which was out of her control. The curse made her do that, but every time we see her “human” face, there’s always an underlying sadness.
Something I also love about this movie’s Medusa; her choice of bow and arrow for a weapon is extra appropriate because it takes a decent amount of strength to use a bow, and snakes are almost entirely made of muscle.
I also like that she doesn’t just stand around waiting for someone to look at her. She actually fights and knows how to use her weapon.
When Medusa finally finds a person that can be her friend without turning to stone when he looks at her, he tries to blow up Medusa. Honestly, she really couldn’t catch a break.
A lady left her marriage of just 2 months old because the husband told her to drop the key to the house her father gave her as a gift for her birthday… The husband said the name written on the documents should be changed to his and the keys given to him, the lady didn’t agree to it and said what belongs to her, is for her not anyone else…not the family, just her and the husband said she was being disrespectful and if she wasn’t going to drop the keys the marriage is ending… the lady agreed to it and left.
Did you think the husband was wrong to ask for the key?
Do you also feel the lady took it to the extreme by leaving because she wasn’t ready to give him the house? Who do you think was wrong here?
Instead of trying to fix the cobwebs, deal with the spider.
Cleaning the mess feels productive. It looks like progress. But if the thing creating the mess is still there, you are just rehearsing the same work.
Find the source. Cut it off. Then the cleaning actually lasts.
I was sitting in the emergency room waiting area late one evening when the doctor came out and told me they had tried reaching my emergency contact. No answer.
He asked if there was anyone else they could call. I gave him a few names. Still nothing. Then I remembered that when I had filled out the paperwork earlier that evening, I had written down my sister's old phone number.
I hadn't used it in years, but somehow my hand had written it automatically. I tried calling my family myself. Nothing. I put my phone down and looked around the waiting room...
SHE FOUND A WEDDING RING IN HER BOYFRIEND’S CAR… BUT SHE WASN’T THE ONE HE WAS GOING TO MARRY.
She confronted him immediately.
He stared at her for a few seconds, then said, “I was going to tell you tonight.”
She thought he was about to propose.
Instead, he pulled out his phone and showed her a photo.
It was her mother wearing the exact same ring.
Her boyfriend had secretly asked her mother for permission to marry her.
She burst into tears….not because she was angry…
…but because her mother had already known for six months and somehow kept the secret.
Would you want your partner to ask your parents for permission before proposing?
HR: “Can you explain why you’ve been coming late?”
Staff: “I can. I’ve been taking care of my mother.”
HR: “That’s not the company’s problem.”
Staff: “I understand. I’m just asking for a little understanding.”
HR: “You’ve been warned three times. One more incident and you’re out.”
Staff: “Out? After everything I’ve done for this company?”
HR: “Don’t make this emotional.”
Staff: “Fine. Then let’s talk facts.”
HR: “What facts?”
Staff: “Your husband has been sending me messages for six months.”
Silence.
HR: “What are you talking about?”
Staff: “You asked me why I kept coming late. I was meeting him.”
HR: “You’re lying.”
Staff: “Then check your husband’s phone.”
The HR manager went completely quiet.
Then she whispered:
“Please… don’t tell my husband.”
The staff smiled.
“Now you understand why I needed a little understanding.”
My ex sent me a screenshot of a conversation between me and my current girlfriend.
There was just one problem.
I had never had that conversation.
At first, I thought she was trying to start drama.
Then I noticed the messages were from my girlfriend’s number.
Same profile picture.
Same name.
Everything.
I called my girlfriend.
She answered like nothing was wrong.
So I asked her, “Who were you texting about me last night?”
She went silent.
Then she said, “What did you see?”
That was when I knew the screenshot was real.
Just not the way I thought.
Why Half-Blood Prince is the Ultimate Masterpiece of the Series:

My absolute favorite book in the entire series has to be Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, precisely because it functions as a masterclass in psychological profiling and dark lore.
While the movie diluted the narrative into a teen romance comedy with a hasty Slughorn subplot, the book’s true narrative engine is the dark, methodical exploration of Tom Riddle’s descent into Voldemort through Dumbledore’s Pensieve lessons.
Filming slashed crucial memories that defined his character -like the tragic squalor of the Gaunt family, his mother Merope using a love potion on the Muggle Tom Riddle Sr., and young Tom chillingly abusing other orphans at Wool's Orphanage. We were robbed of seeing a teenage Riddle frame his uncle Morfin for murder, slaughter his Muggle father's family, and manipulate Hepzibah Smith to steal Hufflepuff's Cup and Slytherin's Locket to forge his Horcruxes.
The book systematically laid out the exact logic behind why Voldemort chose six specific, priceless artifacts imbued with deep wizarding history to store his soul -a profound detective story about the nature of dark magic and human arrogance that the film completely stripped away to make room for generic filler.

What’s your favorite book from the series⁉️
the fact that Harry Potter spent a WEEK filming some Quidditch shots just for us to blink and miss them is sending me 😭
1 WEEK OF FILMING → 2 SECONDS ON SCREEN
I genuinely can't get over this ratio
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS TOOK A WEEK
