@mmbronstein @TorahJudaism I’ll answer for you since you don’t seem to have a clue. It is an acronym for “Elijah the prophet will one day decide”, and is used to describe unresolved theological debates. In modern Hebrew it means a tie in a soccer match.

How about the word “taiku”. How is that used in modern Hebrew as opposed to the Talmud?

@mmbronstein @TorahJudaism In all English versions of Herzls quote, where on Hebrew agada is used, in English the word used is “dream”. Agada is a holy part of the Torah. In modern Hebrew it means a fairytale.

It was changed bc in rabbinic literature incl the Talmud, agada means ethical parts of Judaism and stories of the righteous. Zionists wanted to mock Judaism so they did that

@StanleyCohenLaw It appears the township originally took the flag down at the request of the Orthodox community but then put it back up at the request of the Zionists. The Orthodox, led by Rabbi @yaakov_shapiro held a rally there thanking the township for removing it.
