This afternoon, I was around the @nigimmigration headquarters area and decided to go and see the Comptroller General of Immigration Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju. I just gave my name and she agreed to see me. She said she knows me and is aware of my long campaign to improve passport administration.😊
I commended her efforts so far and gave her my best wishes. She immediately said that she had been getting unparalleled support from the Honourable Minister of Interior @BTOofficial. Well done to him.
We discussed their plans o minimise human contact in passport processing from next week and a forthcoming innovation to allow virtual capture. I asked how that would work and she said I should look forward to an app that could be used for renewals.
We discussed corruption in the service and she was very forthright about the need to change the culture and to isolate and punish the offenders. We both recognised that it would not be easy or quick.
She introduced me to some of her Deputy Comptrollers of Immigration. The gentleman in white is the Director of Finance and Accounts Professor Abah (no relations). He is a professor of finance. The other gentleman is the DCG in charge of foreign missions and the lady is another DCG.
The Comptroller General said: “You sometimes criticise us but you always proffer solutions. Please don’t relent. It improves us.” I left her office greatly encouraged.
Something interesting happening. First it was @elrufai establishing Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship @KDSG_KIF, to bring young people into Govt & provide learning, experience & mentoring. Now @jidesanwoolu has followed suit, with Lateef Jakande Leadership & Fellowship Academy, for LASG.
The pandemic was a mixed feeling knowing that has it was wavering around the world. It was surely coming to Nigeria, so it was more of if it happens, how ready were we and how will we contain it ? #UNMASKED via @jidesanwoolu

As we intensify efforts to make Lagos a 21st century economy, our workforce will be equipped with what it takes to contribute their own quota and we will ensure that our developmental activities are driven by cutting edge innovation and technology.
Today, I launched the Lagos State Learning Management System to enhance human capital and boost the productivity of our civil servants.
The LMS is a technology-driven platform that will strengthen capacity development in the public service.

I'm highly honoured to be with the Governor of Lagos @jidesanwoolu; the speaker of the House of Representatives @femigbaja; the minister of State for Health @DrMamora and other dignitaries to declare open the 2day training program for health workers in Lagos State
The #EndSARS protesters demanding better policing and good governance were peaceful. They even swept up after themselves. Those that committed arson, looting and mayhem were very different. They had their own agenda and it wasn’t police reform or good governance.
