@PaulGBrandon I’ve heard the advice, “Always retire TO something: not FROM something, but I retired FROM teaching as well, and it took me about six months to get my feet under me again, and feel like I was ready to make some long-term choices. Don’t rush yourself!
@rgay There are some great suggestions here. I teach Science Communication focusing on dialogue and oral presentations as integrated into NSF and NIH grants. While I work primarily with med students and natural/mathematical sciences, I have found several of these sources to be helpful!
@AliceDreger I know your talk was fantastic, of course - and the shoes are beyond amazing! I live in New Hampshire but will be making a trip to Chicago soon!
@inqdragon2 Being able to surprise people - by letting others go ahead of me in line (I’m in no hurry) by swearing or telling a joke (we all love to laugh) and to advocate for important causes (like reproductive rights, immigration reform, and sustainability).
