A major milestone for Laikipia and the wider Mount Kenya region as the 86.4km Nanyuki–Rumuruti 132kV Transmission Line has been successfully energized today, with the system confirmed stable.

The project will strengthen electricity supply in Rumuruti by providing a more robust transmission connection and reducing dependence on the long 33kV line from Lanet.

With the distribution distance expected to reduce by about 50%, the project will help lower technical losses while improving the quality, stability and reliability of power supply across the region. ⚡🇰🇪
