It’s difficult to live with herpes: outbreaks, anxiety, fear of transmission to your partner are just few of the things that make you depressed. Help us to defeat herpes! @NIH @NIHDirector @US_FDA@CDCgov@CDCSTD@moderna@GSK

@CSafare@imdesbtw Correct just pointing out how the government doesnt put precautions in place to prevent transmission of this STD so stigmatizing it by saying eww doesnt make sense
A cure for Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV-1 and HSV-2) is urgently needed for the 6 billion people globally living with HSV. Herpes is not benign. We need a cure today because patients are waiting.

@CDCSTD Testing positive for chlamydia only means taking an antibiotic cure, and you’re free from it. Testing positive for herpes means having to know you’re NEVER able to be intimate with others again without the risk of transmitting to you partner! #CureHerpes#SilentNoMore
Why is HSV not talked about more? @CDCSTD@CDCDirector@FDADeviceInfo@washingtonpost@nytimes advocates tweet, send emails, we are on tik tok and still being ignored by those with decision making power. Are we not worthy of a response? You are part of the stigma.. help break it.
There are people with HSV that want to unalive themselves. Therapy helps but more options for treatment would too. @FDADeviceInfo acknowledged current testing isn't optimal and confirmation testing should be done but why not standardized Biokit and Western blot tests?
You are correct, Jim, in that he real magnitude of the problems caused by herpes is underestimated drastically. We should all work together to change that.
At this point a lot of people have already come to terms that this is a life long disease and will have it when they die because it’s been neglected for so long
Somehow hundreds of millions of people are suffering from herpes but no companies can come together to provide a vaccine or sustainable way for people to live with it.
"When both engineered and unmodified herpesviruses were inoculated into mice, the gene drive converted up to 90% of the viruses—possibly enough to prevent an HSV-1 infection.."
