Agree with all this. I think leadership in the AI-era will definitely be different. The ability to provide a vision/mission and get people motivated to follow it will still be required, even if it involves a pace of change that is 10x today. I think a new trait that will emerge is the ability to rapidly adapt and pivot to changes - in the market, in the tech stack, etc and crafting a new vision to adapt. Also - I used to think the best leaders in the SaaS-era had strong GTM instincts (you’re a great example). I *think* the new leaders will need to be more technically oriented to make smart decisions given the rapid change of underlying tech and the incredible choices (and risks) in this builder environment. It’s a brave new world - exciting and terrifying all rolled into one!
@bhalligan I feel like you’ve had enough in circuit CEOs and would be cool to have a few off circuit that have unique super powers to share, or have skills you find interesting. Have you tried getting nominations from the community? They have all been great so far!
@bhalligan@bhorowitz@pmarca@elonmusk Oh man brought back memories of the interview questions at PTC: “what school did you go to? Response: Uh- I graduated from <Insert school>. Interview reply: “what??? I heard that’s the worse school ever and everyone who goes there is terrible!” ..a test of objection handling.
Thinking about the brave people of Iran as they rise up against a repressive regime. Our daughter created this artwork a few years ago - it’s more relevant than ever right now.
