Julie Zhuo (https://t.co/H5aMBridhJ) started at Facebook as an intern. She left after more than a decade to build her own company.
Today, Meta acquired it.
Ask @joulee what she learned along the way on Delphi.
Today, we're announcing that Sundial has been acquired by @Meta!
Chandra Narayanan and I are joining along with some other incredible members of our team.
Nearly six years ago, Chandra and I started Sundial with two core beliefs: 1) better decisions come from using data well, and 2) great things come from working on hard problems with people you like.
Sundial automated away many of the obstacles involved in getting to meaningful analysis (Cleaning data! Creating semantic layers! Writing SQL! Storytelling!), and we were proud to support some of the fastest-growing AI companies from OpenAI to Gamma.
We started before the AI wave and rebuilt ourselves to be AI-native. We raised our first round when interest rates were near zero, and our Series A when they were the highest in two decades. We watched customers hyperscale and then close shop, new grads grow into leaders, and software development change completely.
Entrepreneurship has been my dream since college, when I first took a class on start-ups (shoutout Mayfield Fellows!). I wish I'd been brave enough sooner because there’s no better way to learn how the world works and who you really are than betting on yourself to launch a business.
Meta is my former home and where I learned product and design. It's also one of the most analytically rigorous places on the planet. So many of Sundial's values came from there: questioning assumptions, diagnosing with data, owning the user’s experience. I'm thrilled to bring what we've learned to the place where it all started and continue our mission of improving the quality and velocity of business decisions with people we like.
To Team Sundial past and present, THANK YOU thank you thank you. You created that special feeling within our team, and I bask in the memories of having walked those lush miles and eaten those breakfast dosas with you.
To our investors and supporters especially @dpatil, David Fischer + the whole 01A advisors team, @mvernal, @sequoia: how did we get so lucky to have your counsel and support? And to my beloved @mikesego and kiddos: I could not have made it without you.
These have been some of the hardest, most humbling, and most alive years of my life. I hope I'm wiser for it and will have many chances to pay it forward!

We asked five people who’ve seen more of the world than almost anyone: if you had one trip left, where would you go?
Between them, they’ve spent more than 40 years on the road, from a motorhome across Europe to well over 100 countries. They know this planet like the back of their hand.

Could one learning algorithm, given enough data, figure out everything there is to know? Pedro Domingos (@pmddomingos) built a career around finding out.
That question became The Master Algorithm, one of two books Bill Gates says everyone should read to understand AI. Pedro taught at the University of Washington for over 20 years and won the SIGKDD Innovation Award.
Wondering where AI goes next, or how to start learning it yourself? Ask him: https://t.co/mXgBKsY2rU

Arthur Brooks (@arthurbrooks) has spent his career studying one question: how to live a happier life.
He’s a professor, a New York Times bestselling author, and co-wrote Build the Life You Want with Oprah. Now you can bring your own questions about happiness, meaning, and relationships to his Delphi, built from everything he’s written and said.
He wrote about the experience for The Free Press. Worth a read. Ask his Delphi about it: https://t.co/Hnm3OsZBmX
Want to build an audience but can’t quit your job?
Lenny Rachitsky (@lennysan) started his newsletter after seven years at Airbnb. It now has over a million subscribers. We asked his Delphi where you should start.

I’ve been trying to get better at spotting talent before it’s obvious.
There’s no better person to learn from than @apartovi
He founded @neo and backed Facebook, Dropbox, Airbnb, Cursor, and Kalshi.
When Cursor looked like a worse version of GitHub Copilot, the founders couldn’t convince some of their own friends to join. They knew the team was brilliant. Some were already using the product. They still said no.
Ali spent hours trying to change their minds. He didn’t know exactly how Cursor would beat GitHub either. He believed the team would figure it out.
What was he seeing that everyone else was missing?
On this week's episode of The Library of Minds, we talked about how he developed that judgment, the warning signs you ignore when hiring, and who is liable when AI breaks the law.
What I like about Ali is how openly he talks about getting things wrong too: blowing a negotiation with Steve Jobs, backing down after threats from Jimmy Iovine, and what he wishes he’d handled differently in his public feud with YC.

Ali Partovi (@apartovi) is one of the world’s best at spotting talent before the evidence is obvious.
He co-founded LinkExchange and https://t.co/j596whh7im, was an early investor in Facebook, Uber, and Airbnb, and now runs Neo, the fund that backed Cursor and Kalshi before the world caught on.
Most founders will never get the chance to pitch him. But they can talk to his Delphi. He hopes you’ll bring it the decision you’re afraid of, because the path you fear is usually the one he’d push you toward: https://t.co/JrAQAtiRUv

The feature you scroll every day started out as one of the most hated launches in Facebook’s history.
@joulee was there. She joined Facebook as an intern when it was about a hundred people, became VP of Product Design, and later wrote The Making of a Manager. (Chat with her here: https://t.co/F0vkMwn6j6)
We asked her Delphi what it was like. Her Delphi is live, so go ask her anything.
Captain Paul Watson (https://t.co/m5zRogWRtt) has been fighting whalers for more than fifty years.
He was one of the early members of Greenpeace, then spent decades captaining Sea Shepherd ships, getting between harpoons and whales. A lot of people know him from Whale Wars. In 2024 he was arrested in Greenland on a warrant from Japan and spent five months in jail before Denmark let him go.
We asked his Delphi why he’s dedicated his life to whales. His answer is above.
@CaptPaulWatson's Delphi is live. Go ask him anything.
In 2011, Stéphane Bancel (https://t.co/IUNsMNnCAm) left his job running bioMérieux, a French diagnostics giant, to lead a startup with no products and one unproven idea: that mRNA could teach the body to make its own medicine.
For nearly a decade, Moderna didn't have a single approved product. He kept betting on it anyway.
This year, Moderna and Merck reported something cancer researchers have chased for a century: a personalized cancer vaccine that succeeded in a Phase 3 trial. Each dose is designed from the patient's own tumor. In more than 1,100 melanoma patients, it lowered the chance of the cancer coming back compared with the standard treatment alone.
If you've ever been told your idea is a long shot, ask the man who spent fifteen years proving his wasn't.
Stéphane's Delphi is live
@nicknorwitz The best way to explore Nick's perspective
Nick Norwitz was on the most traditional path in medicine.
He graduated valedictorian at Dartmouth, earned a PhD in metabolism at Oxford, then an MD from Harvard. Along the way, a serious illness changed how he thought about all of it.
So he started testing the standard advice, often on himself, and publishing what he found. Today he's a researcher and science communicator on a mission to make metabolic health mainstream.
Have a question about your health? Ask his Delphi.
🚨Very Exciting Announcement!🚨
We’re officially releasing My Digital Mind at StayCurious Metabolism Substack.
But let me give you a little context.
Over the past year, StayCurious Metabolism has grown from its infancy to become a top bestseller on Substack and, by far, the most often #1 Top Rising Science newsletter on the platform. In fact, we’ve spent more time at #1 on the Rising Science leaderboard in 2026 than all other science newsletters combined.
🫵 And that’s all thanks to you, your enthusiasm, and your curiosity.
But as we’ve scaled, one of the challenges I’ve faced as a creator is the limitation of my own time. As much as I’d love to respond to every comment, answer every question, and correspond with each of you personally, there simply aren’t enough hours in the day.
So, we’ve been working on something special.
We’ve partnered with Delphi @withdelphi to create a digital version of my mind, trained on my entire body of work.
That includes >300 letters, >500 videos, dozes of papers, posts, and thousands of hours of podcast content.
In fact, it's trained on >4.5 million words of my original work, which is more than All the Harry Potter Books and all the Lord of the Rings Trilogy combined times three! And it's growing every day!
This isn’t just a random chatbot.
It’s a digital facsimile of my brain, built around my scientific interests, research, explanations, and perspectives, that you can interact with at your leisure.
Want to explore a topic from one of my letters? Ask a follow-up question about a video? Dig deeper into the science of metabolism, nutrition, or longevity?
Now you can.
And unlike me, my digital mind doesn’t need to sleep!
📢 Built With You, for You
We first launched this tool to our founding members about a month ago, giving them early access to help us beta-test the experience.
The feedback has been phenomenal.
“I used Delphi like I would Claude and ChatGPT. I thought Delphi had better depth in terms of mechanism of action. It really helped me understand a nagging shoulder injury that I have. I like the idea that the outputs are tied to Nick’s knowledge base. Feels more nuanced.”
“I get trustworthy information and perspectives highly relevant to my health and well being that I can’t get anywhere else.”
“The interaction during the commentary was what I would expect from a knowledgeable and caring clinician.”
And this is just the beginning.
As my body of work grows, so will the knowledge and functionality of this tool. And the more you use it, the more feedback we’ll have to continue refining and improving the experience.
My hope is that it becomes an increasingly useful resource for exploring the science, revisiting ideas, and satisfying your curiosity whenever inspiration strikes.
🫂 The Human Touch Isn’t Going Anywhere
Let me emphasize one thing: StayCurious Metabolism will never lose its human touch.
I’ll still be here, writing letters, engaging in the comments, and sharing the science that excites me.
But as our community continues to grow, I want to find new ways to make this experience more personal, not less.
And that’s what my digital mind is all about.
It’s a way to give you greater access to my body of work, help you explore the questions that matter to you, and make our growing library of scientific content more interactive and accessible.
🙌 Give It a Whirl!
Premium members (net cost less than 67 cents per 3,000 word deep dive) get unlimited access. Free subscribers get a free trial.
I look forward to continuing to learn, explore, and grow together. #StayCurious
Jim Kwik (@jimkwik ) is one of the world's top brain coaches.
He has spent 30 years teaching elite performers how to learn faster, remember more, and focus deeper, from main-stage TED speakers to Hollywood actors, and wrote Limitless, the playbook for upgrading your brain.
Most people will never get the chance to work with him. But they can talk to his Delphi. He hopes you'll skip the speed-reading questions and ask the one he cares about most: who are you becoming?

Imagine two people using AI every day for ten years. One becomes much better at thinking. The other can barely think without it.
I’m already seeing hints of the second outcome: people producing results they can’t explain or defend. It feels like the beginning of Idiocracy.
I asked @jimkwik how to avoid becoming that second person. He’s one of the leading experts in memory and accelerated learning, and has spent three decades coaching CEOs, elite athletes, Hollywood actors, and TED speakers on how to use their minds better.
Jim shared the process he uses to keep himself thinking while using AI. It’s called BUILD:
B - Brainstorm what you already know.
U - Understand the real problem.
I - Imagine three possible solutions.
L - Leverage AI to expose your blind spots.
D - Decide what to do.
AI comes fourth. It has your thinking to challenge, and you still have to make the call.
On this week’s episode of The Library of Minds, I spoke with Limitless Daily author Jim Kwik about why learning still matters when answers are instant.

3:03 - Digital Dementia Is Real
11:05 - CrossFit for Your Mind
21:13 - Raising Kids Who Do Hard Things
33:23 - The Illusion of Learning
43:26 - The Coming Meaning Crisis
52:01 - Do This Before Asking AI

In 2011, a kid from Glens Falls, New York, turned his own name into a verb.
At BYU, @jimmerfredette led the nation in scoring and was named college basketball's National Player of the Year, and "getting Jimmered" became slang for being scored on by him. The NBA drafted him 10th. In China, he once scored 75 in a game.
In 2025 he retired. Seventeen months later he told his wife he still had something left. He came back and won MVP in his first tournament.

Robert Cialdini (@RobertCialdini) has spent his career studying one question: why do people say yes?
His answer became Influence, the book that's shaped how the world sells, negotiates, and persuades for 40 years. A psychology professor who turned decades of research into the principles now taught in business schools everywhere, his books have sold over 7 million copies.
Advice from the world's leading expert on persuasion has always gone to boardrooms and Fortune 500 companies. Now it's available to anyone, whether you're closing a major deal or asking for a raise.

Jake Xia earned his PhD at MIT, then spent 17 years at Morgan Stanley running trading and risk across New York, London, and Tokyo.
In 2013, Harvard Management Company made him Chief Risk Officer, putting him in charge of risk for the largest university endowment in the world.
Today, he’s also back at MIT, teaching how math powers financial markets and researching how complex systems behave.
His digital mind is live, so you can ask the man who guarded Harvard’s billions how he thinks about risk: https://t.co/6AjGA0SlGm
Alisa Cohn (@AlisaCohn) is one of the world's top executive coaches.

One of the strangest parts of becoming a founder is realizing your team can’t tell which of your ideas are ideas - and which are instructions.
You think you’re thinking out loud. They think the strategy changed again.
@AlisaCohn, named the world’s #1 startup coach by Thinkers50, put it simply: founders generate ideas, teams hear priorities.
At some point, protecting the team means keeping some ideas to yourself, and being painfully clear when one actually becomes the priority.
