Unless they get a high first in a trade (Raks, Rust), that would make zero sense from the Pens side. This is all postured on Car wanting EK badly enough

@mikek_412 @kelsey_surmacz4 He was bad at critical times in that cup final. Like, cringe bad that lead directly to goals against. I don’t know for sure, might be my observer bias, but I think his ice time went way down at the end of those games. Maybe just a development thing, but I’d be wary for sure.

I think going on this run now & performing at this level is going to be better for him/the franchise in the long run
