About Siri AI and EU:
1. Your data (gallery, messages, email, call logs, notes, files, and much more) is indexed for personal context, and that info is stored on your iPhone.
2. When you use Siri AI, the request is either handled on-device or in cloud using PCC. Itโs never stored or logged on Appleโs servers. Apple does not have access to it.
Now, according to Apple, hereโs what EU wants:
โAccording to EU regulators, the DMA requires Apple to give any AI system nearly unlimited access to a userโs device, as well as the ability to act on that access autonomously without a userโs ongoing visibility and control. That includes the ability to read and send messages, make purchases, access files, and execute actions across any app.โ
What EU is asking is scary dangerous. And apparently they have rejected all the solutions proposed by Apple.
And, as hinted by Joz, โWe will NOT compromise on privacy and securityโ, Apple is likely not going to give up, so EU users are likely not going to get Siri AI anytime soon.

. @KCCAUG recognizes the urgent need to regulate the transport industry, particularly the operations of boda bodas, which have increasingly become a road safety risk. The Authority Council has already approved the Transport Bill, and it is now progressing through the necessary approval levels to be enacted as a Transport Ordinance.
This ordinance will provide a clear legal framework to guide the regulation of the industry, ensuring safer roads, orderly operations, and improved public safety across the city.
I am in #Uganda, where the government has mounted a prompt and capable response to the outbreak of #Ebola.
Screening at the borders helped detect cases arriving from neighbouring #DRC, and the countryโs surveillance, testing and case management systems are doing steady work. Of the 19 confirmed cases so far, 14 were among people who entered from DRC and five are Ugandan nationals. Sadly, two people from DRC have died, and our thoughts are with their families.
@WHO is supporting Uganda, alongside @AfricaCDC and partners across the region, as the country leads this response.
With continued collaboration, I am confident this outbreak can be brought under control.
@UGLawyer@DailyMonitor They are trying to make ends meet. The people on top too, are trying to make ends meet. The MPโs are trying to repay loans. Hence, no one. Thatโs authentic democracy right there.
