Credit where credit is due. Ducks played a hell of a series. Time get a longer summer and come back next year healthy and rested with hopefully some new faces. #letsgooilers
Nothing against Ingram, he hasn’t been great but I don’t think he’s the reason for either loss by any means. But anyone else wish we had game 4-7 Skinner right now? #letsgooilers
I know Oilers Twitter is crazy and emotional, but getting pissed off tha Drai and Davo weren’t on the ice for practice when they are both battling injury is a new low. Resting and getting treatment is 100x more valuable to the team than practicing is with this series schedule.
I love Samanski and can’t wait for the rest of his career. But am I wrong to say I’d love to see Lazar in that 4C roll? I’m confident in whoever they pick. I just think Lazar fits the identity of what that line needs and is a strong RC for faceoffs #letsgooilers
@KevinMcCurdy This unit is so good at adjusting I’d be shocked if they don’t get a grade A scoring chance off the entry in game 2 to exploit what the ducks did clogging the blue. Then that will open up space again moving forward.
@AustinHockeyYT You can’t roll 4 lines when you lose a guy. Putting one of the other Cs with them means their regular wingers sit longer than normal and that’s not worth it. They got regular shifts before he went down. Can’t judge a coach for not playing 4th line when the 4C leaves the game.
@TevinMarch@furmsies Not in disagreement that others don’t deserve Hart over McDavid like the guys you mentioned. But “first half” is aggressive. He’s been the best Dman in the NHL since November 1st. He had a TERRIBLE first 10 games. Not first half.
Interested to see what Oilers do on PP1 now. Podzy was the plug and play mid game to be in Drais shooting spot and that made sense. Savoie seems like the obvious choice for rest of season when they have the ability to practice/scheme stuff up. #letsgooilers
@oilersdailyy Drai missing time makes it even less likely that they get separated imo. If Drai is out, you either put Nuge between podz and Kappy. Or you make 93-16-28 your 2nd line and put Samanski or Freddy between 92&42 (I prefer option 2).
@itsWozzz@SportsF4natic55 100%! If it was a home game, they play a lot more, because you can play them against other teams bottom 6 in a lot of situations. I think throwing them out there for a D zone draw on the road would be more egregious coaching than only playing them the limited minutes they got.
Dach didn’t get benched in the first. Everyone needs to relax. Blinded hate of Knoblauch is making our fan base look uneducated and not realize there is perfectly reasonable explanations based on game flow for his TOI in the first period.
@HarryCalve this is exactly my point. Putting Drai out there in a dzone draw, is a reasonable explanation for having Dach on the bench to start the shift, it ended up being the whole shift because they got hemmed - that happens... doesn't mean he was benched or punished for starting a scrum.
@oilers_selfharm@itsWozzz not "defending" his deployment. But people are on here saying he got benched because of the scrum in the first period. There is a very big difference between getting "benched" and getting misused and under played.
