Many caddisfly larvae build cases and attached structures out of natural material such as plant debris. Here's one on the Vyrnwy cutting a twig to the correct size - just think of the huge effort it has already put in!
Stonefly emergence.
A stonefly emerges from its larval case; its wings unfurl, harden and dry and then fold over its back. It is now ready for its first flight.
