On behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State Governorship Election, I extend my warmest congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his emphatic and well-deserved victory in the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election, having secured a decisive 319,224 votes to earn a renewed mandate from the good people of Ekiti State. This remarkable and resounding victory stands as a powerful affirmation of his performance in office, his inclusive style of leadership, and his steadfast commitment to the progress, stability, and development of Ekiti State. It equally represents a clear expression of confidence by the people of Ekiti in continuity, purposeful governance, and the consolidation of the significant gains and achievements recorded under his administration.
I also heartily congratulate the good people of Ekiti State for making a wise and forward-looking choice. By re-electing Governor Oyebanji, the people have once again demonstrated their abiding faith in progressive governance and in a leadership philosophy that places the welfare, aspirations, and shared prosperity of citizens at the very heart of public service. Their collective decision reflects not only confidence in the present trajectory of the state but also a commitment to a future anchored on peace, stability, and sustained development.
This outcome further underscores the positive impact of the support and enabling environment being provided to subnational governments by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Through courageous reforms, strategic interventions, and a deliberate commitment to strengthening the capacity of states, the President has continued to create conditions that empower governors to deliver meaningful dividends of democracy and accelerate socio-economic development across the federation.
I commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, local and international observers, the media, and all stakeholders whose professionalism, dedication, and collective efforts ensured a peaceful, credible, transparent, and successful electoral process. Their contributions have further strengthened public confidence in our democratic institutions and reinforced the integrity of our electoral system.
I also urge all political parties and candidates who participated in the election to embrace the spirit of statesmanship and join hands with Governor Oyebanji in the overriding interest of Ekiti State and its continued growth and prosperity. Democracy flourishes best when elections are viewed not as an end in themselves, but as opportunities for collective advancement and shared progress.
As Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council, I am deeply delighted to have successfully delivered on the important assignment entrusted to me and the distinguished, committed, and hardworking members of the council by our great party, the APC. I sincerely appreciate my colleague Governors, National Assembly members, the Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters and all members of the National Campaign Council whose dedication, unity of purpose, and tireless efforts contributed immensely to this outstanding victory. Once again, I congratulate Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and the people of Ekiti State, and I wish them even greater progress, peace, and prosperity in the years ahead.
Senator Uba Sani, CON
Governor, Kaduna State
Chairman, APC National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State Governorship Election
On AriseTV this afternoon, I shared my assessment of the ongoing Ekiti polls. So far, the electoral process has been largely peaceful, free, and fair, reflecting the commitment of voters, electoral officials, and other stakeholders to strengthening our democracy. While the conduct of the exercise has been encouraging, there remains room for improvement as we continue to refine and strengthen the efficiency, credibility, and overall integrity of our electoral process in Nigeria.
Hon. Victor Mathew Bobai, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Uba Sani on Public Affairs, has called on stakeholders across Southern Kaduna to unite behind the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), for greater unity, security, development and political inclusion.
Speaking at the Friends of CG Musa Social Media Platform Strategic Social Engagement Meeting in Barnawa, Kaduna South, Bobai described General Musa as a leader who bridges political, religious and ethnic differences, highlighting his contributions to national security, peacebuilding, youth empowerment and community development.
He said Southern Kaduna’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani should translate into improved infrastructure, job creation, agriculture, education, security and stronger representation, while noting that issues like Gurara State creation must follow constitutional and peaceful processes.
Quoting Romans 13:1 and 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Bobai urged respect for authorities, prayers for leaders and lawful democratic engagement.
Participants, including Hon. Jessy Ajeson Luka, Comrade Bala Stephen, Celestine Fadason and other stakeholders, expressed confidence in General Christopher Gwabin Musa and called for unity, protection of citizens, improved security, reconciliation within APC, and fertilizer support below ₦10,000 per bag for the 2026 farming season to boost agriculture and rural development.
They emphasized that Southern Kaduna’s future depends on unity, dialogue, peace and collective development.
On this blessed day of Juma’ah, may Allah (SWT) surround us and our families with His mercy and blessings. May He accept our prayers and good deeds, forgive our sins, guide us on the straight path, and place barakah in our sustenance and efforts. May He grant us good health, peace, lawful provision, and success in this life and the Hereafter. May Allah bless our dear Kaduna State and Nigeria with peace, security, unity, prosperity, and righteous leadership. Ameen.

“DEMOCRACY DAY 2026: DEFENDING DEMOCRACY, STRENGTHENING UNITY, SECURING THE FUTURE”
My Esteemed Citizens of Kaduna State,
Today, on June 12, 2026, we stand in solidarity with our fellow Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to commemorate Democracy Day; a day that encapsulates sacrifice, courage, freedom, and national unity. This moment invites us to honour the countless men and women whose unwavering struggles have ensured that democratic governance prevails over authoritarianism. It is also a time for deep reflection on our nation’s journey, a celebration of our progress, and a renewed commitment to forge a stronger, more united, and prosperous Nigeria.
June 12 holds a singular place in the annals of our national history. The historic election of June 12, 1993, revealed the extraordinary capacity of Nigerians to transcend ethnic, religious, and regional divisions in pursuit of a shared national destiny. Though that democratic mandate was unjustly annulled, the sacrifices that ensued ignited a national movement, ultimately restoring constitutional rule and laying the foundation for the freedoms we cherish today.
As one who actively participated in the pro-democracy struggle, I reflect with profound respect and deep gratitude on the sacrifices made by luminaries such as the clear winner of the Presidential Election of June 12, 1993, Chief MKO Abiola, GCFR, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN, GCON, Dr. Beko Ransome-Kuti, Hajiya Kudirat Abiola, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Col. Dangiwa Umar (Rtd) and many other patriots who risked their liberty, comfort, and, in some instances, their very lives in defense of democracy. Their courage serves as a timeless reminder that freedom is never free, and democracy must never be taken for granted.
This year’s celebration bears particular significance, as it marks over twenty-seven years of uninterrupted democratic governance under the Fourth Republic; the longest period of constitutional rule in Nigeria’s history. During this epoch, our nation has successfully conducted seven consecutive general elections, witnessed peaceful transfers of power at both national and sub-national levels, and demonstrated that democratic institutions can endure, adapt, and strengthen over time. The right of citizens to freely associate, organize, form political parties, forge alliances, contest elections, and engage in governance remains one of the crowning achievements of our democracy.
As we revel in these accomplishments, we must remain vigilant. Across Africa and particularly in our West African sub-region, constitutional governance has faced increasing pressure from anti-democratic forces, leading to unconstitutional changes in government. These developments remind us that democracy cannot thrive in complacency; it must be actively defended by citizens, institutions, and leaders who uphold the rule of law, constitutionalism, and the supremacy of the people's mandate.
Thus, we must resolutely reject all forms of anti-democratic tendencies and resist any romantic notions of military rule. While democracy may sometimes appear slow or imperfect, it remains the most effective system for managing our diversity, protecting fundamental rights, promoting accountability, and ensuring peaceful political succession. Under democracy, citizens enjoy the freedom to choose their leaders, express their opinions, and pursue change through constitutional means rather than coercion.
I was deeply honored to welcome Baroness Jenny Chapman, the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for Development and Africa, and her esteemed delegation which include the Development Director, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Nigeria, Cynthia Rowe on a courtesy visit to Kaduna State. Her choice to make Kaduna her inaugural destination in Nigeria speaks volumes about the progress we have achieved and the trust that our international partners place in our development agenda, a sentiment she graciously acknowledged.
Our discussions offered a valuable opportunity to reflect on the enduring partnership between Kaduna State and the United Kingdom, which has significantly bolstered our institutions, enhanced governance, and advanced sustainable development. We also explored new avenues for collaboration, focused on promoting economic growth, creating opportunities for our citizens, and enhancing our resilience to emerging challenges.
I extended my heartfelt appreciation for the UK’s steadfast support over the years and reaffirmed Kaduna State’s commitment to partnerships that yield tangible benefits for our people. I underscored the importance of consolidating the gains from past interventions while pursuing innovative strategies for future cooperation.
The outcomes of our engagement leave me optimistic, and I am confident that this partnership will continue to flourish in the years to come, paving the way for a brighter future for Kaduna State.

Governor, Kaduna State.
I am profoundly honoured to accept the role of Chairman of the National Campaign Council for the upcoming Ekiti State Governorship Election, a moment marked by the official inauguration conducted by the esteemed National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.
In this pivotal role, I am committed to a collaborative effort with fellow council members, party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters throughout Ekiti State. Our shared goal is to orchestrate a successful campaign that culminates in a resounding victory for Governor Biodun Oyebanji. His exemplary performance in office, wide-ranging acceptance, and the unparalleled support he commands from political leaders and stakeholders inspire confidence that the APC is poised for a historic triumph. Our ambition is clear: to secure an overwhelming mandate, aiming for a margin exceeding 500,000 votes in this crucial election.
We have laid a robust foundation, with strong grassroots structures established across all 16 Local Government Areas and 177 wards. The active engagement of youth, women, and other vital stakeholders positions us well to mobilize effectively and safeguard the impressive advancements achieved under the APC administration in Ekiti State.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to national development. His unwavering support for our party's growth is invaluable. I also sincerely thank the APC leadership for the trust they have placed in me. Together, we shall secure a decisive mandate for Governor Biodun Oyebanji and further the APC’s progressive vision for both Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.

EID EL-KABIR: A TIME FOR SACRIFICE, REFLECTION, AND RENEWED HUMANITY
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
I extend warm felicitations to the good people of Kaduna State and beloved citizens across our great nation; and throughout the world as we celebrate Eid el-Kabir; a sacred season of profound spiritual reflection, sacrifice, and gratitude to Almighty Allah SWT.
Eid el-Kabir occupies a unique place in the moral and spiritual consciousness of Islam. It commemorates the exemplary obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose complete submission to the will of Allah remains one of the greatest testaments of faith in human history. His steadfastness, together with the devotion and trust demonstrated by his family, continues to illuminate the path of righteousness for generations of believers.
Beyond the symbolic act of sacrifice lies the enduring essence of this festival: the triumph of faith over fear, of conviction over comfort, and of compassion over self-interest. The Holy Qur’an reminds us with timeless clarity: “It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him.” (Qur’an 22:37). In this profound verse resides the true spirit of Eid: that sincerity, humility, mercy, and purity of intention are the virtues most cherished by Allah.
At a time when many families and communities continue to confront economic and social pressures, the lessons of Eid assume even greater significance. This season calls upon us to deepen our humanity; to stand beside the vulnerable, extend kindness to neighbours, comfort those in distress, and ensure that no member of society is abandoned to hardship or despair. A compassionate society is not built merely through institutions and policies, but through the moral choices of its citizens.
As a government, these values continue to guide our vision and actions in Kaduna State. We remain committed to building a state anchored on justice, inclusion, peaceful coexistence, and shared prosperity. Our administration will continue to invest in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, social protection, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities that restore dignity and expand hope for our people.
I wish to sincerely commend the citizens of Kaduna State for their resilience, maturity, and enduring commitment to peace. Our diversity remains one of our greatest collective strengths. We must therefore continue to reject every form of division, intolerance, and violence, while nurturing the bonds of mutual respect and understanding that sustain harmonious communities.
As we gather with family and loved ones in celebration, let us remember those facing difficulty and extend the joy of Eid to every home within our reach. Let us also continue to pray for our state and our nation; for enduring peace, security, stability, and a future defined by justice and shared progress.
May Almighty Allah accept our prayers, sacrifices, and acts of charity. May He continue to guide us on the path of wisdom and righteousness, and bless Kaduna State and Nigeria with peace, mercy, and abundant prosperity.
Eid Mubarak.

The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has joined other Muslim faithful at this year's Hajj. He is presently at the Arafat ground offering special prayers with other pilgrims before joining the Kaduna State contingent.
Today, I had the distinct honour of commissioning the Hon. Justice Muhammadu Bello Bar Centre and formally declaring open the NBA Kaduna Branch Law Week 2026 alongside the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, eminent jurists, distinguished members of the Inner Bar, and the wider legal community.
The completion of this remarkable edifice represents far more than the delivery of physical infrastructure. It stands as a powerful testament to visionary leadership, institutional continuity, and the enduring strength of collective purpose. I commend the Chairman of the NBA Kaduna Branch, Barrister Baba Lawal Aliyu, past leaders of the Branch, and all members whose steadfast commitment transformed a worthy aspiration into enduring reality.
It is particularly fitting that this Centre bears the name of Hon. Justice Muhammadu Bello, a jurist whose intellectual depth, moral clarity, and distinguished contributions to Nigeria’s constitutional and legal evolution continue to command profound respect across generations.
I am deeply encouraged by the acknowledgment of our administration’s steadfast support for the judiciary and the legal profession. We remain unwavering in our commitment to strengthening judicial institutions, widening access to justice, and upholding the rule of law as indispensable foundations for democratic governance, social stability, and sustainable development in Kaduna State. I wish the NBA Kaduna Branch fruitful deliberations and a most successful Law Week 2026.

There is a reason @ubasanius is No. 1 on every sane person’s list.
Kaduna no longer asks to be considered. It is now being cited. The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has named Kaduna the country’s leading model in rice transformation and food security under Governor Uba Sani.
Days earlier, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, through Country Representative Cheikh Touré, named the state Sub-Saharan Africa’s benchmark for drug prevention, mental health reform, ATI implementation, child protection, and transparency.
One is a domestic peer review. The other is a continental designation by a UN agency. Both played on verifiable data and evidence.
What these recognitions share is governance architecture. Rice value chains and functioning ATI regimes require the same boring disciplines: data, effective and efficient procurement processes, agencies that answer letters, a centre that holds.
Kaduna has rebuilt the centre. On to the next one.
I was pleased to welcome the Director-General of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Dr. Abdullateef Shittu, and his delegation on a strategic working visit centred on deepening collaboration on the State-Led Rice Transformation Initiative. Kaduna State’s selection as a pilot state is both encouraging and reflective of the significant strides we have made in agriculture and food systems development.
I commend the Nigeria Governors’ Forum for recognising Kaduna State’s sustained commitment to agricultural transformation, food security, and rural economic growth. Agriculture remains at the heart of our administration’s development agenda because we firmly believe that economic stability, social progress, and lasting peace are closely tied to the prosperity of our farming communities.
Our administration has scaled up budgetary provision to the agriculture sector from the 0.5% allocation (N1.48 billion) we inherited in 2023 to 13% (N108.38 billion) in the 2026 budget, thereby surpassing the 10% benchmark set by the Malabo Declaration. This strategic investment has strengthened Kaduna State’s position as one of Nigeria’s leading producers of major cash crops and enabled landmark initiatives such as the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) and the Agricultural Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC).
I reaffirmed our administration’s full support for the Rice Transformation Initiative and endorsed the proposed implementation council, which I shall personally chair. We remain committed to building strong partnerships that will advance sustainable agriculture, strengthen food security, create jobs, and support enduring stability across Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
Senator Uba Sani, CON
Governor, Kaduna State
In furtherance of our unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of our people, I had the privilege of inaugurating the Kaduna State Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) Peace and Security Committee. This marks a decisive step in our ongoing efforts to consolidate peace and entrench sustainable security across Kaduna State. Kaduna State is also serving as the pilot state for this peace and security initiative, reflecting national confidence in the effectiveness and promise of our security framework.
From the very outset, this administration has pursued a carefully balanced strategy; combining kinetic responses with thoughtful non-kinetic interventions, within what has come to be widely recognised as the Kaduna Peace Model. This approach is grounded in a clear understanding that insecurity is not merely a function of criminality, but often the consequence of deeper structural challenges, including poverty, exclusion, and limited economic opportunity.
Through sustained collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser, the National Counter Terrorism Centre, the Armed Forces, and other security agencies, we have recorded measurable progress. Intelligence coordination has been significantly strengthened; key transport corridors, including the Kaduna–Abuja highway, the Birnin Gwari axis and other previously flash points, are now markedly safer; economic activity is steadily rebounding across these places; markets have reopened; and our farmers are returning to their fields with renewed confidence.
I am particularly encouraged by the commendation of the National Counter Terrorism Centre, ably represented by Ambassador Abimbola Wonosikou, who described the Kaduna Peace Model as worthy of emulation for its deliberate focus on addressing the underlying drivers of insecurity.
The Committee, under the able leadership of the Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Muazu Meyare, brings together a broad coalition of stakeholders: government institutions, security agencies, civil society, and traditional and religious leaders. Its mandate is to guide the structured rehabilitation, skills development, and reintegration of individuals exiting violence, while fostering community trust and long-term stability.
Together, we shall build a Kaduna State where peace is not merely promised, but lived; where security is shared by all; and where the future is defined not by fear, but by possibility.

Ekiti APC Gubernatorial Campaign Flag-off
The Governor of Kaduna State and Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State Governorship Election, Senator Uba Sani, has arrived at the Ekiti Township Stadium.
He is joined by the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, the APC National Chairman, and other dignitaries to officially flag off the APC campaign rally for Governor Oyebanji’s second-term re-election bid.
Following my appointment by our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), as Chairman of the Ekiti State Governorship Campaign Council, I arrived in Ado-Ekiti ahead of the official flag-off rally with a clear sense of responsibility. I was warmly received by the Governor of Ekiti State and our gubernatorial candidate, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
I held a strategic meeting with Governor Oyebanji and key stakeholders to review our preparedness, refine campaign plans, and strengthen coordination across the state. Thereafter, I conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the rally venue, which reflected strong organisation, enthusiasm, and readiness among party faithful. I am impressed by the visible development across Ekiti State under Governor Oyebanji’s leadership, which provides a solid foundation for our campaign. His purposeful governance and connection with the people present a compelling case for continuity.
As Chairman, I remain committed to delivering on this mandate by mobilising grassroots support and ensuring a successful campaign. This effort aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and I am confident that, with unity and dedication, victory is assured.
