Introducing PK Mem: Gentle ✨, photostable ☀️membrane dyes for long-term live super-resolution imaging!
Great collaboration with Yitong Li and @AxonsAlex 🌟
Thank Peng Xi Lab & Hongyun Tang Lab for support!
Check it out at PNAS today. Thank you Alexandre for the collaboration!!
PK Mem probes offer long time-lapse imaging of cell membrane dynamics. Made possible by @JingLing369, Yitong Liu, and all the collaborators!
Available @spirochrome
Our biorxiv preprint is now online @nchembio 🎉
https://t.co/PIY7kk2APJ We made substantial revisions and added new experiments. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. Our journey continues!
Here come our new palette of fluorescent dyes. The BD dyes endeaves to balance glowy brightness, robust photostability, and biocompatibility. Let's boost 4D dynamic super-resolution imaging!!!

Check out our new paper in @NatureBiotech sharing our latest kinase activity reporters! Led by former postdoc Michelle Frei, these reporters are based on HaloTag rather than an FP, for far-red imaging and superresolution! https://t.co/gTPnLXXQEV
Today, I would like to honor the memory of Roger Y. Tsien, born on February 1, 1952. His legacy lives with all who use his technologies, including calcium sensors, fluorescent proteins, the acetoxymethyl (AM) ester, & many more!

Our collaboration with @FluoSphera 2nd episode:
2 types of cancer spheroids (HER2 positive and HER2 negative) were color coded with our PKmem probes and co-cultured in microcavity plates.
Live cell imaging beautifully captures the progressive binding of trastuzumab-FITC (anti HER2 Antibody) only in HER2 positive spheroids.
This powerful platform, developed by FluoSphera, paves the way towards accurate drug discovery or personalized cancer treatment.

🚨Spirochrome and @FluoSphera new collaboration!
Our PKmem probes for gentle plasma membrane imaging meet Fluosphera's highly innovative encapsulated cancer spheroids technology!
Staining lasted over 72 hours without (photo)toxicity or bleaching, improving overall data quality and facilitating tissue barcoding/segmentation! A perfect match between the two technologies.
😍Mini-supernovas💥under the objective!
More 🤯images and data soon 😉
🔬Gentle Rhodamines generally offer alleviated phototoxicity enabling long time-lapse imaging of different organelles

The MemBright PM stains set a high bar for specific membrane labeling. But if you care about the phototoxicity under time-lapse and SR imaging?
Here we present a gentler palette -- PK Mem dyes. Tailored for live cell SIM/STED!
