I genuinely don’t think people understand how insane this is.
In just 50 years, we’ve wiped out around 70% of animal populations on Earth.
Not hundreds of years ago.
Not ancient history.
In one lifetime.
Entire species disappearing.
Forests going silent.
Oceans being emptied.
And somehow the world treats it like just another statistic instead of a full-blown emergency.
That should scare all of us a lot more than it does.
The internet used to be full of websites; there were millions of them and you could browse for hours and come away smarter rather than dumber. Now there are four sites and they've made half the population illiterate. We've destroyed a wonderful thing, and it has destroyed us.
@PolitlcsUK Fresh fruit, bread and many unprocessed (fresh/frozen) items are on the list and not all are unhealthy, either. Not necessarily what I would choose but outside of the sweets/sugar there are meals, snacks and options.
Major cheat code for life: Be fully where your feet are. When you're at work, work. When you're with family, be with family. When you're resting, rest. Most people are physically present and mentally everywhere else.
Teachers make around 1,500 decisions a day.
In a 10 hour day thats 150 decisions an hour.
That’s a decision to make every 24 seconds.
Nearly 300,000 decisions in 39 weeks of teaching.
Such a mentally demanding job.
Too many holidays, yeah right!
Stop using AI for everything. Just Google things. Read an article. Use your dictionary. Touch grass. Open a book. Ask God. I don’t know, but stop using AI for basic questions.
A one-pager with bits that I want students to remember for the GCSE English Literature exams. It’s obviously stuff that needs to be expanded upon, but it should hopefully be useful as the basis for a final lesson or two before it all begins https://t.co/x22osoukof 🖊️
I do *not* want an AI "summary" of an email, or a book, or a life. I do not want an AI summary of a winter sky, or my father's hands, or the hope in my child's eyes. I do not want an AI summary of the human heart, or the first little shiver of lust, or the long good work of love.
@DeborahDuffin@SteveChalke Whilst that is true, teenagers often have voracious appetites (due to puberty, metabolism and the addictive nature of sugar/marketing) and will snack on the way to, during and from school.
