It's official.
As the bond market "meltdown" accelerates, the average interest rate on a 30Y mortgage in the US is up to 7.45%.
That's up +150 basis points in 6 months and the highest since 2023, when inflation was at 6.4%+.
What is happening? Let us explain.
(a thread)
Unbelievable.
3 hours later and the 10Y Note Yield is now above 5.20% for the first time in 19 years.
The 10Y Note Yield is now up +50 basis points in 30 days and +30 basis points in 2 days.
Even more remarkable is that the average American has no idea this is happening. Yet.
The bond market is imploding in front of our eyes.
I'm amazed people will skip an EV because they take a couple of long trips a year, then sit in Costco gas lines every week to save a buck, when they could just charge at home.
Add the time wasted on emissions inspections, oil changes, and the rest.
EVs don't have a range problem. People have a mindset problem. You almost never go from empty to full. You grab what you need and go. It's faster than most people think.

Texas is off the table for Paramount. The company is now focused on Nashville.
Paramount leaders conducted a verbal survey with dozens of key employees and Tennessee was the winner.
Austin, Texas, is still in play, but Franklin, Tennessee, is getting the most employee votes right now.
I'm told real estate agents in Nashville have fielded calls from Paramount executives looking to relocate.
Buckle up!

Futures were decidedly nasty this morning ahead of the opening bell when I sat down with the super-savvy @Varneyco who wanted my thoughts on AI and how an investor should navigate current market conditions.
Long story short…
- AI is the single biggest threat to humanity since the atomic bomb
- Going to the sidelines is the last thing you want to do if you can help it!
Enjoy! 😃
