Foul to give killed the Spurs on the Brunson flop down after the steal. I've been saying this for years--the foul to give is so dumb unless you're clearly beaten on the play. So many things can go wrong as a result, and very little right.

I know it’s become pretty cliche and cringey to talk about at this point but if you’re under like 25 I cannot stress enough how one time Obama wore a tan suit and people spent a week arguing over whether or not it was demeaning to the Oval Office and they were serious about it.
The only business I engaged in was selling my paintings. I averaged about $225k per year in income over the 4 years of my Dad’s presidency. Now you may be outraged by that but where is your outrage over Don Jr opening a private members club next to the White House called the Executive Branch club where the stated purpose is to rub shoulders with senior White House officials and Cabinet members. And the initiation fee is $500,000. Where is your outrage over Peter Navarro calling from inside the WH to push the Pentagon to grant the largest loan it has ever made to any company for a rare earth startup backed by Don Jr. Where is your outrage when Donald Trump took a Boeing 747 from the government of Qatar. Four hundred million dollars. Over a billion dollars in tax payer money for upgrades. The most valuable gift any foreign government has ever given the United States. And when he leaves office, it goes to his library.
He sued his own IRS for ten billion dollars and settled. And the settlement declares the IRS, and I am quoting the filing here, is “forever barred” from pursuing its audits of him, his family, and his companies.
oh my goodness -- Ted Lieu played Rubio a video of Trump sleeping while Rubio tried to talk to him during a cabinet meeting. Then this exchange happened:
RUBIO: I've never seen him fall asleep
LIEU: I'm gonna show you a video that shows you just lied to Congress
*plays another video of Trump sleeping by Rubio*
man, who should we believe: someone who's virtually never gotten along with her colleagues in a true newsroom and was previously accused of being a terrible manager at their previous stop, or the multi-Emmy-Peabody-Polk award winner beloved by his co-workers?
Scott Pelley issues new statement after being fired by CBS for opposing their pro-MAGA bias:
“New management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them.
Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done.
Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.”
[looking at people younger than me] you have your whole life ahead of you, [looking at people older than me] you have your whole life ahead of you, [looking at myself] it's over.
Two things I particularly enjoy:
1) His utter contempt for Trump and his ilk is palpable, but it’s almost apolitical. It’s moral without being preachy. Tough needle to thread.
2) There is a seriousness here that is woefully missing in our politics today.
"Having treated pancreatic cancer for 16 years, I actually started crying" when first seeing the study results," said Dr. Rachna Shroff of the University of Arizona Cancer Center, who wasn't involved with the research
Most people fundamentally don’t understand how Kamala Harris stepping up in the middle of the summer after the Biden debate saved the Democratic Party from a much worse fate than what we have now. I saw the polling in many swing states, and it was apocalyptically bad.
The NBA will have a different NBA champion for 8th straight season, extending the longest streak in league history.
